Dr. Alan D. Sampson, MD

Made me pay $25 for a pair of glasses I need for after my cataract surgery. Then, told me my surgery was being rescheduled to sometime before the new year. Never heard another word from them unless I called them. Which I did monthly. Never could they tell me when my surgery would be rescheduled. Meanwhile, my eyes have gotten so much worse! I can't even drive because I CAN'T SEE. My surgery was scheduled for late October 2025. Now, it's March and still no word. I have lost all faith in this office and no longer trust him or his office. It's been so long my referral has expired. Dr Sampson's office is a hot mess. Also, they give zero shits about their patients.

UPDATE: It has been almost a month and my partners eye surgery is not completed.On top of that he cant get her in till almost 1 month & 3 weeks later.. Everything is all good when everything goes right,This surgery went bad real quick..We have to go to the doctor every week with no surgery date set.talk about milking Medicare.. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR FOR ANY MAJOR EYE SURGERY.. My partner went to Dr Sampson for cataract surgery..Things didn't work out And we're having to return to the office multiple times.. please go some where else for major eye surgery,this is turning into an absolute Clown show....

Dr Sampson needs to retire. I've been his patient for the past 5years. I have noticed that his minimal ability to relate w patients has gotten worse. I have a rare genetic disorder that was recently diagnosed. It effects my eyes. When I told Dr Sampson about it, he said nothing, no questions, no comments no suggestions. He just went about what he always does and says. His staff is good and responsive to their patients, I just think he is done as a doctor.

My wife and I have, for years, relied on Dr Sampson for our eye health. I have been seeing Dr Sampson over the last few weeks for an eye issue. He has been very thorough in his tests and examinations. His staff is always very professional, kind and courteous. I'm continuing to see him for treatment and followup. I have the utmost confidence in his ability to diagnose and treat my eye issue. We highly recommend Dr Sampson and his team.

He completely missed the fact that my father had 4, that's right, four separate retinal tears. After losing his vision in more than 50% of his eye, he had to go to the ER for a true diagnosis and he was rushed into surgery the very next day for a retinal repair. Had we took his word, the surgeon made it very clear that the damage would have been permanent and he would have never seen again. Do your research, find another eye doctor!

Not at all impressed, missed a retinal tear in a patient. That the ER was able to diagnose, thank you Sutter! Unimpressed with bedside manner, compassion, and overall work as a physician. Go SOMEWHERE ELSE if you have a serious vision problem.

Went with my partner for her first exam yesterday, May 31st. with Dr, Sampson and we were both impressed and looking forward to subsequent visits.

Dr. Sampson has been my eye doctor for 2 years. I believe he is an excellent physician and is very personable, as is everyone in his office.
