I'm surprised by these negative reviews - I had the most wonderful experience here. Dr. Lee and Dr. De Niro were kindly able to squeeze me in same-day as a new patient for an urgent eye issue. They were extremely kind, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed me and solved my issue, and also squeezed me in for a same-week checkup despite their busy schedule. Dr. Lee especially was one of the best doctors I've ever had, and was so kind and knowledgeable. The front desk staff was also very nice and friendly, and the location is convenient for parking and access. Thank you to the team here for such amazing care!

This was the most wonderful doctor visit I have ever had. I don't usually leave reviews on my medical experiences, but everyone was helpful, efficient, kind and charming. It was overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Dr. Lee and his team.

I haven't been seen here yet, and honestly I'm not sure it's going to happen. Their front desk keeps telling me they don't have 1. a referral from my doctor (they did), then 2. an authorization from my insurance (so I got that for them as well), and now 3. an authorization number from my doctor. My doctor has no idea what they're talking about. I just left a message with the front desk at East Bay Eye Specialists saying that they had better call my doctor's office themselves (after I have been going back and forth between them, my doctor's office, and my insurance for weeks). I don't think they will, or they would have offered to before now. This is after they have told me I was pronouncing my own name incorrectly (wow) and hung up on me twice. I'm not sure what's going on over there, but I'm going to start looking at other ophthalmologist to go to. Totally incompetent and rude front office staff.

I am in agreement with Molly B. We have been treated very well. Everyone acts like we are friends who have been away for too long. That includes the Dr.

I have been seeing Dr. Hom for many years. She has done cataract surgery on one eye. She is personable and professional. I highly recommend her.

I was visiting Oakland and woke up one day with vision loss--I called them and was able to get in right away. I was diagnosed with a disorder that if left untreated can cause blindness. SO grateful to everyone at East Bay Eye Specialists for literally saving my vision! The front desk staff was so helpful when I called during this emergency, resolving all my questions expeditiously and coordinating with the team for me to be seen right away. Everyone was so kind. I felt like this busy office was doing everything they could for me, despite me not even living in the city or able to be a permanent customer. Incredibly indebted to them, highly recommend!!!

I have visited and seen several doctors in this practice over the past decade or so. All of them are competent and cordial. I have not had any bad experiences with any. The support staff, however, is another story. Among myriads physician's offices, clinics, and medical centers I have visited over the years, most seem to have ways of cycling out bad players and improve staff overall patient service quality. This office unfortunately seems to hold on to its staff, despite their lack of professionalism and their rudeness. Perhaps job security makes some of them too arrogant to care. The rudeness of certain ones have not changed and age have not mellowed them. It is difficult to fathom why a medical office will tolerate people like that dealing with vulnerable and often elderly patients.

I had a really pleasant experience after being referred here by my PCP for eye pain. The staff and the doctor were all kind and helpful. I had a little bit of a wait, about 45 mins to see the doctor however for the amount of patients in there, they were moving pretty quickly.
