I've been purchasing frames and lenses from Next Eyewear for many years. They have a great selection of stylish frames with excellent customer service. They are pricy, but the high quality makes it worth it. Highly recommended!

I just picked up my glasses from Next Eyewear on College and I want to share my experience. This is my favorite glass store in America and I want to tell you why. First, if you are looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind frame, this is your place. They have a fantastic selection of funky and fun styles. This isn't your boring old glass store. Many, many of their frames have style and big personalities. They also have some toned down frames, but even their toned down frames have pizzazz. Melissa, the co-owner knows exactly what looks good on people. She will help you make a good decision based on your personality and the look you like. I even brought my favorite jewelry with me and we focused on glasses to compliment it. Just make an appointment and be prepared to receive concierge, warm service! They also use high quality lenses (Hoya) and will ensure you get a great fit! The only negative is that their frames and materials are pricy. But it's worth it to get unique, stylish eyewear and exceptional customer service. I'm a very happy customer.

I've been getting my frames and lenses here for over 15 years. Melissa and Rick are the owners. Melissa has a fantastic knack for choosing the right frames for you, she has really expanded my idea of that looks good on me. I have purchased 5-6 frames from her over the years. Their selection is really unusual and I appreciate having one of kind frames. This is not a discount store and I often pay them off over time I drive all the way from Sonoma County. Yes, it's true, it's just them and sometimes there are more customers than staff to help. I know that can be frustrating. I encourage folks to have a little patience and you will have a great experience!

I've been going to Next Eyewear ever since a friend recommended them to me, and they've always exceeded expectations for service and quality. Melissa helped me find my last two pairs of glasses, and I've just ordered the third. I wouldn't have chosen any of them without Melissa's help, but she has an amazing eye for what looks good on a face. With that said, you will pay a bit for the quality, and VSP's reimbursement is limited. But if you can afford it, I think it's worth the price. And as other reviewers have said, there's no sales pressure, and they're happy to put new lenses in old frames or recommend frames that are on sale. I cannot recommend Next Eyewear enough!

After feeling discouraged after visiting one of the optical companies on College Avenue in Oakland, I discovered Rick - the owner of the Next Eyewear for the last 20 years. He was no nice and thoughtful and understanding. I didn't like any of the frames I saw - So, I decided to use older frames (for glasses I don't use any more). Rick provided encouragement to me for this decision and never tried to "sell" me on what I didn't want. The new lenses in the old frames are doing very well. Again, I was very pleased with Next Eyewear and will return to Next Eyewear when my glasses need updating again.

Great selection and service. While I couldn't find anything at all in the big chains, Melissa easily found 4-5 pairs that looked great on me. I needed it done the next day as I was about to go on vacation and it was ready in time. Very happy with my new specs and the great service.

Super positive pandemic shopping experience here. Dedicated staff, appointment where I was the only one in the store. Back room open to air where I could try on many frames and the staff had wonderful suggestions. I got progressives and computer glasses!
