Best eye exam I've ever had. My experience with Doctor Dagron was beyond excellent. The doctor was very thorough and was willing to go above and beyond to help with me with recommendations for skiing glasses. The office is gorgeous, clean and impeccably elegant. Also very kind and friendly staff. Highly recommend

I haven't had an eye exam in 20+ years - and I am so glad I chose U & Eye Optometry! I was nervous going into the appointment - wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as I sat down in the chair, I was made comfortable and put at ease. Dr. Dagron was kind and explained everything he was doing. I highly recommend being seen by Dr. Dagron.

My eye examination with Doctor Vincent was so thorough. I love his new facility in Montclair it is so clean, spacious and beautiful. I really appreciate that his equipment is new and high tech! He made me feel really comfortable as I haven't had an examination in over 25 years. So thankful for his come and cool demeanor!

It had been a while since I had an eye exam and was looking for an eye doctor nearby. I was excited to come across U & Eye after doing an Internet search. They just opened an office not far from where I live and the reviews of Dr. Dragon were very complimentary. So, I booked an appointment. I got in right away and am so relieved to have had an exam that I had been putting off because I really didn't know where to go when I lost vision insurance after retirement. From beginning to end, my experience was completely positive. I had no problem making an appointment and was able to do the registration paperwork online. I was welcomed into the office and was seen promptly. I really appreciate the time Dr. Dagron spent addressing specific concerns I had about a preexisting condition with my eyes. Dr. Dagron took the time to explain the issue that I was unclear on and put some worries I had to rest. I've had a couple of eye exams in the past, but I felt that the exam in Dr.Dagron's office was the most comprehensive and the most helpful in my understanding of my vision. At the front desk, Tyler is a gem, so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend U & Eye and will make sure that I don't miss annual exams in the future. Update: I'm raising the rating because I received a very polite and apologetic voice mail in which they thanked me for bringing these problems to their attention and assured me they would look into improving their process. I'm still going with a different provider who seems more responsive to emails and has a better selection of appointment times. Original review below. Completely nonsensical onboarding process I went to their website to register as a new patient. The first indication of something weird was the fact the two options were "Comprehensive encounter existing patient" and "Comprehensive encounter new patient". Okay, odd wording, but fine. I booked an appointment slot for a 10am on a Friday. I noticed that gender was a required field and only had Male and Female options. I'm not affected by that so I kept going, but in the back of my head wondered what kind of UI is so bad it omits an "other" category (I'm not taking a side politically; even if one says there are only two genders there's still 0.1% of people who physically/genetically don't fall into either category). But that was only the tip of the iceberg! Because soon, I was met with a ton of demographics questions, such as marriage status, ethnicity, etc. none of which were marked whether they were optional or mandatory (and they couldn't have all been mandatory, because there were many that no other optometry place had asked before). To top it off, there was a field that said social security number. It was annotated with "Last 4". If you put in the last 4, it put a hyphen between the first 3 digits and the last digit, as if it were expecting a full SSN. So the text field is showing it needs a full SSN, and the title of the field says "last 4". I couldn't make this up if I tried! All this made me a little wary so I pressed the back button to see what would happen. This form (which I learned is hosted by an external website) then said it expired and I would need to start over and verify my identity. The funny thing is it wouldn't be able to verify my identity because I hadn't filled in enough info yet. When I pressed the button to start over, it sent me to a website called yosi health which was completely unrelated to the original appointment booking mechanism. I went back to the original website for U & Eye and tried to see if I could continue where I left off. I had to start over by booking an appointment. I saw that the appointment I had picked was no longer available, and there was no way to declare myself as the pre-existing owner of that appointment slot; I'd have had to re-enter all my info, as a duplicate person, duplicate name, etc. Moreover, that appointment slot was the only 10am Friday slot they had; I checked up to 4 weeks later and there were no more 10am Friday slots. As I remember there were about 7 pages of forms you'd need to fill out on that external website and I shudder to think how much time I'd waste if I'd filled out more pages. There's no guarantee I wouldn't run into the same issue of the site declaring my session expired, then saying I need to start over by verifying my identity despite that the info which could be used to verify my identity hadn't even been filled yet. There's no way to continue where you left off.

This is the BEST optometry ever. I'm not even joking you when I tell you the glasses they gave me are a 1000/10. I got the grey SALT glasses and the staff was super nice examining me and helping me choose! Thank you for the great experience - and see you soon!
