Costco Optical Department

I'm so glad they accepted my VSP insurance. I was able to get 2 pairs of prescription glasses for they same price I would have paid for one pair elsewhere. From what I understand not all Costco's accept VSP, so I am happy the one closest to me does. I found the staff very helpful. It took less than a week for them to let me know my glasses were available to be picked up.

I came in to fix my Cartier glasses and they were SO helpful. Ultimately it wasn't fixable as the frame was broken but they helped fix as much as possible and another pair I brought. They gave me a new case, and recommended a local shop to fix the frame break. Honestly above and beyond what I was expecting given that the glasses were out of warranty.

The prices are really low for good quality lenses. But the staff are not proactively knowledgeable. I had exchanged my heavy polycarbonate lenses for high index because they said it would be 25% lighter. They were actually heavier by 2 grams. I brought them in thinking it was an error and they re did it without investigation. They were still 2 g heavier. When I really forced them to give me an explanation they googled it. High index is "denser" and only gets lighter with prescriptions stronger than mine. Thanks for wasting my (and the lab's) time.

My biggest gripe is that when your glasses are ready to be picked up you STILL have to pull a number and wait in line with EVERYONE. Which seems unfair to me if all you're doing is picking up glasses they make you prepay for. Not worth the lower price point when factoring in the added wait time for two separate visits IMO. I had to leave because I didn't have 20+ minutes to wait in line. I still haven't received my glasses.

I haven't gotten my glasses yet but I did have a 5 star customer service experience with Grego in the process of selecting and ordering them. He was patient and helpful. Happy to share his opinion when I asked and super gracious as we waited to get my prescription info emailed. I couldn't have asked for a better glasses buying experience.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Lem today! I've never enjoyed an eye exam as much as I did today- he really has a great flow; you can really tell he knows his stuff and thoroughly enjoys serving his patients. He is also so personable and funny! And he gave me great advice for extending the life of my contact lenses. Thank you Dr. Lem, Dr. Woo and staff!

This review is about the staff of Dr. Woo's office. Receptionist did not apply my insurance and I got overcharged for my visit, despite providing my insurance before my appointment. Called today to confirm that my insurance was applied and receptionist Michelle said I have to wait and call back on Tuesday when the doctor is in so he can help me. I requested a refund because with insurance, I should have only paid $10. Michelle stated she could do nothing else to help me. She took down my number and said she'd have the doctor call me. Not sure why Dr. Woo would have to assist with this failure from his staff. Aside from the clear failure on the receptionist end to apply insurance and be of any further assistance, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience w/ Dr. Woo and Costco optometry. Dr. Woo is provided excellent care and was very kind and thoughtful. Outside his office, the Costco staff that helped me pick my frames/new glasses (and remembered to apply my insurance) were helpful as well.

Doctor Woo was swift and attentive to my concerns at my visit, and at my husband's, he went a couple of minutes over to give him the extra care and information he needed. Friendly and efficient!
