Very kind & helpful front desk. Also a very kind and helpful doctor (Dr. Ashby Jones). He was quite good at explaining each procedure and why he was doing each one.

Front desk is super sweet and the dr. Was very thorough and professional! Sad to see that reviews from over 5 years ago are still hurting this place's google rating

I came here for a routine eye examination. They don't take walk ins but they can put you on a standby list if there are any cancellations. I was able to see Dr. Jones in 3 days because of the standby list. The receptionist will check if they take your insurance when you call to schedule an appointment. I'm very happy that I didn't have to wait at all for my vision exam. That's an effective appointment system to me. I felt like Dr. Jones was thorough when doing my vision exam and was willing to answer any questions I had. He didn't push me to get unnecessary glasses. I will definitely come back for my annual vision exam next year.

They do a careful, thorough, professional job here, and the quality of care is excellent. The staff (front desk) are greatly improved over prior years. I have been able to get in for medical emergencies (eye infection) on short notice. It can take a long time to get in... that is a function of supply and demand, not the doctor's fault. The doctors here are both excellent (I go to one, my wife to the other).

Incredibly disappointed with the service received at Mission Bay Optometry. I called to make an appointment and was placed on a waiting list. A day later, I received a call informing me that there was a spot available at a certain date/time. I provided information and reserved the spot. I arrived for my appointment on time, only to find that no one knew what happened to my appointment. They had my information "in the system" but, as if by magic, there was no appointment to be found. I wasn't offered an apology - they offered for a doctor to see me at another time, which I declined. It was interesting that I couldn't be seen right then and there, since the office was completely empty of other patients. I declined politely and left. Everyone's time is valuable, and that includes the patient.

I called them as a new patient on Feb 22 looking to make a standard eye exam appointment and the first open slot they had was April 4th (that's 41 days apart). Fine. I get there, like a good patient, 10 minutes before the appointment time to check in. It's now 18 minutes past my appointment time and I haven't gotten called in yet. I'm still waiting right now but I'm really annoyed and am killing time by writing this post. I'll update this review if I ever get seen with the rest of the appointment. 19 minutes.

I found this optometric office recently and have had a great experience here. Doctor is very knowledgeable and patient, and the whole staff is friendly and has your best interest at heart.
