Mosaddegh Eye Institute is the only place I will ever go for eye care. The atmosphere is calm and organized, I was greeted with a smile and my appointments are on time, I got a thorough exam and my problem was diagnosed and treated precisely and efficiently. Most of all I appreciate Dr. Mosaddegh's expertise and joyful compassion. I was aware of her dedication to being of service to her patients. Thank you Dr. Mosaddegh.
I booked an appointment specifically to see a specialist ophthalmologist because my eyelid has been swollen for a month. I've been taking antibiotics and using Polymyxin ointment for weeks with no improvement. When I arrived, they switched me to an optometrist without telling me. She was nice, but she wasn't the specialist I booked for and just told me to keep using the same ointment I've already been using. I paid a $40 copay and left with no real help. It feels like this clinic books patients under specialists and then switches them to other doctors just to fill appointments. A complete waste of time and money.
Also, I don't believe the people who gave this clinic five stars are real patients
It was my first visit to this office. I was completely impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The expertise of Dr Mosaddegh was both impressive and comforting. The technology she uses in her exams is first-rate, and she is able to clearly and easily walk you through treatment options. Five Stars!
Should have read the reviews!
The doctor was nice enough and seemed knowledgeable, but suggested a treatment for something that has never been brought up in decades of going to an eye doctor and would have cost thousands of dollars out of pocket.
When I reached checkout, I was told that they didn't take my eye insurance (even though I had submitted it online ahead of time and reiterated the difference from my medical insurance at check in) and that the person at check in misinformed me, so I was charged the medical insurance rate instead of the much lower eye insurance rate.
Our entire family are patients here, and our experience has been excellent. They treat us professionally, attend to us as quickly as possible, and make us feel right at home. Our last visit was for my son, and everyone was very kind. Rocio's service always exceeds all expectations.
Nov 2025 Update--
I have since received a hefty bill of couple hundred dollars for my annual eye exam, which should have been covered by my insurance. Will call to discuss but you have been warned!
Summer 2025--
I walked away from my annual exam with mixed feelings similar to what others have mentioned in their reviews: it felt like there were a lot of hidden costs or recommendations that would rack up the bills if not careful. My review is super long but tldr version is that the treatments could help but decide after you get a second opinion (and understand the full picture of costs).
First, I thought that I could get my prescription checked and written as part of the annual exam, but staff told me that the prescription would not be covered and would require additional pay.
I was willing to pay until I asked whether I could use the same prescription to purchase contact lenses later. I was told a contact lens prescription would require additional amount, on top of the original prescription.
I forgoed getting the prescription and decided to complete my exam. Staff then gave me the option to dilate my pupils or use a machine to avoid dilation. However, the machine would be out of pocket. I went with dilation and ended up sitting in the office for a longer time than expected, luckily work was flexible but a heads up before visiting would have helped.
After my pupils were dilated, I saw the doctor, who was helpful in some ways and mentioned I had a "pretty serious" case of dry eye and showed me some images of the glands of my eyes.
While I appreciated seeing the images, I have in the past consulted this issue with my out-of-state eye doctor who mentioned while there was some dryness, it was generally fine and could be controlled with good lifestyle habit changes. I haven't had any significant increase in dryness or other worsening symptoms so was surprised to hear such a big difference in severeness from two doctors.
Doctor Mosaddegh then recommended me some treatments (mix of home and office) which were all out of pocket. Her staff ran through the treatments and I told them I would think about it. I thought it was odd how they focused on the treatments but did not give tips on recommended adjustments to lifestyle (e.g., takeout contacts after x hours of wear, rest eyes after x minutes of screen time).
It was really easy to book an appointment by call and the wait was minimal. The office is clean and comfortable, and the front desk ladies were kind and helpful.
I came in for a routine check and Dr Ariel Chen did such a great job at making me feel comfortable and cared for! She answered all my questions and the eye tests (pressure, refraction, eye sight) were thorough. She was professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
I came in with an infection not knowing what to expect. They educated me on how to cure it, but more importantly identified the underlying genetic issue which led to it. They used video of my own eyeball, and charts to illustrate the solution and I walked away informed and honestly happy. This is the complete opposite of my regular interactions with healthcare. It was so uplifting.
