Opt Optometric

Opt Optometric is the best place in the city for eyeglasses and contacts. Dr. Tawil is astounding, talented and highly professional. I have very high myopia so am a special case and ONLY Dr. Tawil can figure out how to develop contacts and glasses which work for such high prescriptions. The staff is competent and friendly; the store beautiful (glittering cases full of beautiful frames) and this is the absolutely best place in the city.

Opt is such a special place. I've been going for my vision checks & glasses for many years. I have FUN every time I'm here, even when Dr Tawil is telling me I need a stronger prescription yet again. Gorgeous, striking frames to shop from. Opt also really stands behind their work and will fix anything that's less than perfect.

I've been going to OPT Optometric in San Francisco for many years, and honestly, it's one of those rare places you stay loyal to because they continually earn it. Dr. Tawil is consistently thorough, thoughtful, and never rushed -- every exam feels like it's tailored to exactly what my eyes need, and I always walk out feeling well cared for. The opticians are incredible. Their sense of style is something I've come to trust implicitly over the years. I can walk in with zero idea what I'm looking for and walk out with frames that feel like they were designed just for me. They really understand face shape, personality, and that subtle balance between classic and bold. Their eyewear selection is next-level, too. I've picked up beautiful Jacques Marie Mage and Thierry Lasry frames here, and they're some of the best pieces in my collection -- impeccably made, comfortable, and the kind of glasses people stop me to ask about. After so many years with OPT SF, I can say they're unmatched in both care and style. It's the kind of place you stick with for a reason, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I've been a loyal customer of OPT Optometric since they first opened and even before with Dr. Tawil back when he was at Eye Gotcha in the Castro. I trust him with my eyes and always have fun with him and the staff at the store. You won't find run-of-the mill frames here. There are a lot of other places to go if you're looking for cheap frames. But if you want frames that are fashionable and make a statement, this is your store.

My wife and I have been going to OPT Optometric since 2016, and we can't recommend them enough. The staff and doctors are top-notch; personable, professional, and genuinely care about their patients. Big shout-out to Dr. Tawil, Todd, and Mary, they always make our visits smooth and enjoyable, and their recommendations are spot-on. I've found great frames here at every price point, from affordable to high-end. Right now, I'm wearing a pair of Moscots that actually get me more compliments than my Jacques Marie Mage frames! Even after moving to Oakland, we still make the trip to SF because we love them so much. The quality of care and experience at OPT is absolutely worth it. If you're looking for Warby Parker-level prices, go to Warby Parker (I do too sometimes). But if you want something special, unique, high-quality frames you won't see anyone else wearing, go to OPT. Their selection, service, and overall vibe are unmatched.

I highly recommend Opt! After struggling for years to find flattering glasses that are stylish but not crazy, I waltzed in here a year ago and found the perfect pair. They really have a knack for helping you pick out glasses that suit your face and your style. And, they carry frames by the incomparable Blake Kuwahara. If I ever move away, I will return to Opt to buy my frames.

I make anyone I know go to OPT when they are looking for eyewear that will make them look absolutely amazing. I've been coming here for years, even before I moved to San Francisco because they always knock it out of the park. I have worn glasses for decades and only when I started going to OPT did I have strangers stop me on the street to compliment my eyewear. Everyone who works here is fab, but Todd really puts it over the top. He is dead honest about how the eyewear looks and will find something perfect to get you into whatever look you're trying to pull off.

Dr. Tawil has been my optometrist for over 20 years. He is an excellent doctor, and I will follow him wherever he goes! Always get great care from him and his staff. Highly recommend.
