Parkside Optometry San Francisco: Herbert Wong, O.D.

I could not be happier with my experience with Dr. Wong! He is very friendly and extremely knowledgable! I appreciate him taking extra time to talk to me and answer all of my questions. I highly recommend him.

Dr Wong has been taking care of my eyes and my family's eyes for over a decade. Before then we went to Costco, Lenscrafter, and other places. I can attest to that he is the most caring eye doctor that I have seen. He's always comprehensive, honest and I never feel rushed. He answers all of my questions and is familiar with the latest research out there. I definitely trust his recommendations. Also he is great with my kids. Unfortunately, one of my child has to wear glasses at an early age. He is definitely not afraid of Dr Wong.

At this day and age, with computers, TV, phones and tablets, maintaining good vision is hard. Luckily there is Dr Wong, been lucky to have been seeing him for over a decade and his popularity and business has grown tremendously. He's still same wonderful charismatic caring person as always. His staff is equally amazing! They've expanded their frame selection quite a bit.

I took my family to visit Dr. Wong, and it was quite pleasant. Their location is right next to USPS, so it's not hard to find. Parking might be a little difficult since people park to get to USPS all the time. The office is small, but he has the necessary equipment to check your eyes. One thing to say, is that he is very thorough and hands-on with your exam, and speaks to you about everything. I've been to other places that have newer tech gear, but they don't talk to you and explain as much to you. Their selection of eye glasses is that large, so if you don't like something you see, you might need to check around, or ask if they can help you order something.

I actually really liked Dr Wong and would be happy to continue to be his patient. The negative marks are reflective of the receptionist who, while very polite, made no effort to accommodate a request (not even a "you are a valued customer effort" and I find it hard to support businesses that do not even TRY. Sorry, Dr. Wong, maybe you could give her some coaching unless you also don't care if you lose clients.

I have been visited this eye doctor for 6 years. I never thought the service can drop down like this. During the eye check, I clearly told him that left degree is not clear, he just ignored it and told me that's because my eye is too dry. The result is that new glasses doesn't work at all, because he increased my right eye degree, make it even worse than the old glasses, I can't work with computer with the new pair. After trying for one month as suggested, it still doesn't work, the worst thing is they never gave me option to fix it, only tell me to use the old prescription or refund. Refund means I will waste last year's insurance. During the communication, they lied about my old prescription, and other things. Not focus on solving the problem, just trying to find excuses. I am so disappointed. Have to give up service with this doctor even though it is next door to my house.

What a gem of a doctor we have in the Sunset area! Very knowledgeable, takes his time with the patient, never rushed. He will answer any question you might have. Simply the best! He has been our family doctor for 6 years! Location is great! And the staff very helpful!!

Great experience all around. Easy to make an appointment, optometrist was friendly and knowledgeable, and staff were helpful all around. Glad to get my new glasses here.
