Peninsula Ophthalmology Group

I spent nearly $1,000 for a pair of computer glasses that are completely useless for me. I relocated back to San Francisco, after living abroad for some time. My previous doctor in Europe, took my autoimmune eye related issues seriously and prescribed a number of effective treatments that brought me relief. Peninsula Ophthalmology Group could only suggest some over the counter drops for me to buy on Amazon.com. I then purchased some new computer glasses through their office, which are unusable because they completely messed up the prescription. They were going to then charge me for another doctor visit to fix their mistake. After I left their office I walked to a nearby Lens Crafters, who in five minutes identified the problem with Peninsula Ophthalmology Group eye prescription, for free. I will now find a new Ophthalmology office and move on. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Anywhere else is better. I just turned 60, and this is literally the worst eye doctor experience I have ever had.

Nice clean and professional, friendly staff. I have been going to this location for many years. I've had a different doctor. But Dr Zore and his associates who took over the practice from my former doctor is great. It's at Union Square so you have to be ready for the heavy populated area. But there's parking across the street. I would recommend this practice to my family and friends.

The exam experience and working with staff was good. Billing and insurance coverage was not. Be sure to know exactly how your insurance covers your exams and what copay you will be paying.

I would seriously recommend you find a different opthamologist. I used to see Dean Hirabayashi, and he was great. This place is now terrible. I went in for a routine exam, and saw the new replacement (who has since left) and was hurried in and out, very impersonal and rushed. Then I was just in Europe, and started experiencing some very disturbing cloudiness in my vision. I called, very concerned, to talk to someone. No one was in, and the receptionist was clueless about who to call in an emergency. After a lot of discussion, she arranged a tele consult with one of their optometrists (not opthamologist) This person listened and said she didn't think there was anything to worry about but to get an exam as soon as I returned to the States. I returned, and have been diagonsed (by better people) with Arterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy, a very serious condition affecting the optic nerve. The service was horrible, and the advice even worse.

Very friendly. Got me in quickly when I needed to be seen. Patients and helpful with learning to put in contact lenses.

Today was my first appointment and it was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and timely in seeing me. I feel they were very detail oriented and caring people.

This practice was purchased from the former owner and the service is unfathomable when you see them and when you try to get a follow up from them. You can ever reach anyone directly for follow ups or get any response of receipts etc. be on the fact that they've sent the wrong prescription to me = avoid this business

Iisten to what Dr. Hirabayashi says...my eye sight was changing on a weekly basis. Dr. Hirabayashi recommended a complete physical examination. Many thanks to Dr. Hirabayashi...my cancer was caught at an early stage. Thank you very much.. Dr. Hirabayashi you are the best....
