UCSF Parnassus Ophthalmology & Optometry Clinic

Worst place ever , the assistant nurse who helped my daughter with some eye picture was so rough on her that without any gloves on he put his hands on her mouth to push her into the machine . She was trying so hard to scream but he was suffocating her. She's a special needs 2 year old and I feel so overwhelmed by this treatment . Please avoid to bring your baby's here .

I've waited months for this follow up visit and the Dr canceled the week before the appointment. So much of the UCSF system is top notch. My experience is that this department is substandard. Reading these reviews I see that I am not the only one. I hope that whoever is in charge realizes their shortcomings and is and to amend the poor performance that seem endemic.

This is the worst practice I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with. I received a referral back in March to schedule a new patient appointment the appointment was scheduled on 10/12/21. I just received a message stating that my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for February 11,2022 two weeks before my appointment it's cancelled. Now I will be waiting almost year for a new patient appointment is totally unacceptable. I have left a message for management to give me a call. I have called patient relations who will escalate my complaint. I have called my medical group to refer me to another doctor lastly I have filed a complaint with my insurance company.

Dangerously disorganized My vision is worse than before my refractive surgery, which isn't my primary complaint as it could be entirely due to bad luck. UCSF's poor organization and embarrassingly bad day-to-day logistics in trying to seek care to address this outcome is why I strongly recommend you reconsider UCSF as place you might seek treatment. I've seen two different ophthalmologists at the center over the last 6 months and they've generally been about an hour late to most appointments (including the surgery itself, while I was on the table). More often than not, this means they're rushed, with little time for questions or explanation. Notably, when I did have a more serious and urgent complication in the week following the surgery, I was given instructions by the after hours support line that directly conflicted with the sparse post-op care sheet. My request for clarification from the doctors or other staff then went unanswered for the full day until a kind resident made time to help off the clock during her last week on the job. Your experience might be fine or only minorly inconvenient if everything goes well, but good luck if it doesn't. I'm now 6 months out, with still worsening vision, and frustrated enough by the UCSF experience to be paying out of pocket to see an outside ophthalmologist in hopes of getting my vision back on track.

I don't recommend anybody to come to this hospital. This is ridiculous. It's miss your I've been referred five months ago, but so far I have not received any calls from them to schedule an appointment for me even they accept my referral and they said we will give you a call and a couple days but not yet

This is for the UCSF Optometry in Berkeley. All my specialists and PC Drs are with UCSF since 2015. Today, I arrived on time for my appointment with optometry and was still in the waiting room 35 minutes later. I was in a 1 hr parking spot and had to return to work. I drove 30 mts to make this appointment. The receptionist apologized and explained that optometry had overbooked patients and I would likely be seen in 1 hour. So disrespectful to patients. UCSF should invest in more Drs and assistants if they want their customer base to grow in Berkeley. I will not reschedule with optometry at UCSF again.

Even since doctor rose left my services have really sucked. The new location on Illinois street for some reason is short handed. I've been waiting over a month for my provider to fill out disability paperwork. My vision is worst before I had the cross linking procedure but no one calls me back

They arent kidding when they say "please reserve 2-4hours per appointment ". I've waited longer than 6 hours for a SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. Worse, if you try to reschedule at any time, they do not have availablity within 6 MONTHS of the timeframe reccomended by your doctor. This has happened multiple times.
