West Coast Retina

Been coming here for years. But Just as some other reviewers had said; expect to wait for at least 2 hours. Coming in today for an emergency check up after cataract surgery as my ophthalmologist suggested. I came in and checked in 15 minutes earlier before my 11:05am appt. Was seen by the tech who took the picture of my eyeballs within 20 min or so, but then they made me wait 1hr and a half in the waiting room on the 2nd floor. I've seen patient after patient being called, even those who came after me. Then they finally called me only to make me wait again for the doctor to see me. I'm still waiting as I'm writing this review. Finally bring seen by the doctor but rather caught me off guard when she was being rude when I tried to explain to her the reason why I was there in the first place. She refused to listen to what I have to say as a patient. Instead she demanded to read the note summary from my ophthalmologist which they sadly failed to send. So basically I was just trying to give her a short summary of what my ophthalmologist. But instead of trying to listen, she cut me off and said; I'm the doctor, I can just read the note! Well, I was just trying to explain. So sad that patients cant even be heard. I wish there are more doctors who would actually listen to what the patients have to say. No need to be so rude! I know doctors's time is precious but time is just precious to us patients, too. Making us wait for two hours or more only be seen for 15 minutes is unacceptable. Seriously looking to switch specialist.

I was told to expect long wait times. That was not my experience. I waited maybe five minutes in the reception waiting room, a few minutes for each test and then just a couple of minutes for Dr. Anita Agarwal. She was personable, efficient and smart. She clearly explained the results of the tests I had taken and answered all of my questions. I was very impressed and will return when necessary.

Dr Shaun is very nice, friendly & knowledgeable. The right balance of professionalism and "fun" personality.

Dr. Shah is the best of the best. Kind, compassionate, comprehensive and pretty funny. Dr. John his sidekick is invaluable... so good at what he does. The nursing staff is absolutely top of the line. This team gets it.... No question they are the real deal! 100% recommendation!!!

With complex eye conditions since birth, the number of appointments I've had with ophthalmologists probably numbers in the hundreds. I feel confident in saying that this one was among the best if not THE best of my life. Every single person from the desk to the technicians to the doctor himself was kind, present, attentive, efficient, compassionate and knowledgeable. As an out of town resident who needed a follow up after a severe infection, I was reluctant to go through all the new patient drills just for a check up but I'm very glad I did. Recommend. Very detailed and expert doctors and very attentive staffs. Dr. Shah, Dr. Chan and his team has done very well in checking my eye condition which was a bit nerve wrecking to me, but they were very attentive and calm,made me feel less nervous facing before the surgery. Thank you again!

An excellent place with top quality medical care. I was treated by Dr. Shah and his staff in connection to a macular degeneration situation. They have all been on top of the treatment and the improving condition. I received clear explanations of the condition and the planned treatment. The office is smoothly run and the medical treatment is first class. I highly recommend them.

Excellent care from Dr. Shah and staff. All were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The billing department gets an incomplete. Both of my insurance carriers have not received any claims from WCR for appointments going back several months. I appreciate the free care but this totally unusual. Every other physician bills within 30 days. With the holidays approaching it would be nice to know what if any funds I owe for the care.
