Family Optometry Center of Simi Valley

As a first time patient, really liked the family feel. We laughing and having a good time for getting flashing lights and air in my eyes. The doctor listened to my concerns and we spoke about all of them. They use advanced technology and from what I see, I believe do more than any other optometrist I have been to.

I had difficulty finding an optometrist that would take my daughter who is four years old, and this was the first practice that I found. They were so good with her, and she is excited to go back next year. They were very patient with her when she was asking all of her questions and they listened to all of her silly stories. The way that they perform their exams is very thorough and it gives me a lot of peace of mind to know that they care for the health of my daughter's eyes and not just determining if she needs glasses or not.

Friendly, professional, efficient, thorough with testing equipment, precise with eye tests, positive business with staff and environment, clean business and inviting office. Very satisfied with my 1st appointment for eye test and choices for lens choices to be ordered. Recommended this business to my sister who will be calling for a new 1st time appt

I really liked Dr. Freeland. He was very nice, conducted a thorough eye exam, and took the time to answer any questions I had. Todd, the Optician, helped me pick out a really nice looking set of frames, and made sure both the fit and visual alignment were good. A very clean facility with a nice, professional staff...I highly recommend them !!

Responding to Office comment: Please don't apologize for "miscommunication"Apologize for the unprofessional response of your employees. Take accountability for what they said. What was communicated (word for word "I don't know what fraud you were doing at your old optometrist, but we don't do that here".) was just as unethical as what you assume another optometry office was doing. There was no professional explanation of coverage. Just a rude and disrespectful response. And like you stated, my father has no knowledge of what another optometry office was doing as far as coverage. So then there should be no need to address his innocent question with an ill mannered response that clearly accuses him of something you know he has no knowledge of. What an awful thing to be accused of. This post is on behalf of my father who was a patient recently at this clinic. He had a very pleasant experience with the exam and with the Dr. who did the exam. He was very pleased with the adjustment in his eye prescription the Dr. gave him. He no longer is getting headaches from his glasses. This 1 star is to the unprofessional and ill mannered staff member who made very uncomfortable remarks to my father. When my father was done with the exam he chose his glasses and then met with a male staff member who charged him for his visit and glasses. Up until this point my father was pleased with the service, nothing above and beyond but average service. After payment he simply asked a question about their office accepting his coverage for safety glasses for his work. (We are new to this office and our other Optometry office would use his insurance to cover the cost of safety glasses for his work). And this employee stated " I don't know what fraud you were doing at your old optometrist, but we don't do that here". My father (who does not know much about medical or vision coverage, other than that he has insurance) simply asked a question. A simple "let me look into that for you" or even a "no, unfortunately we don't cover that" would have been the polite and professional response. As someone who has worked in the medical field for 8 years and has cared for patients I was extremely disappointed in that comment. I would never respond to a patient or any human being in that manner. So unprofessional. So insolent.

Two decades of eye care, and my impression has not changed. Love all things Simi Family Optometry - people and vibe. The professional care is nothing short of excellent. Diagnostic equipment and facility as a whole are current. It is the personalized, individualized care that mattered most! Amazing service by great people!

I've being going,over 20 years . I changed 1 time during pandemic. Sorry I did . In simi it's the best far as I'm concerned. Also They have a large Selection of high-end frames, Todd is a pro at Progressive Lens.

Family Optometry is a great business. The owners, doctor and staff are welcoming and very professional. Dr. Freeland is super friendly and patient. He happily answers my questions and addresses any concerns. I always feel that I get a thorough eye exam. They have a good selection of frames and make sure to make the most of my insurance.
