Went in for a problem, no resolution, given several different medications over several different visits. Front desk staff looks bored and with a bad attitude. Not helpful. I wasn't very happy during my approximately 5th visit. I didn't say anything, was just frustrated at my repeat visits. Maybe they saw that. My appt was at 3:30. They made me wait in the lobby and saw me dead last, which ended up being after 5:30pm. Not much I could do about it. But I asked my primary care provider to send me to a different office. Waiting for a second opinion.
I take my young son to the Solano eye specialists office in Vacaville. Dr. Sandler and all the staff I've met have always been friendly and kind. I decided to write a review today because the service we received yesterday was absolutely incredible. My son is on the autism spectrum and he loathes these appointments. Yesterday was a particularly difficult visit for my son and myself and Dr. Sandler not only spoke to the stress we were under and alleviated both myself and my son's stress greatly. My son wouldn't sit still long enough to get a good assessment of his eyes but that didn't affect how we were treated. We were met with much empathy and compassion. This experience was highly appreciated, for anyone seeking an inclusive environment for special accommodations, search no further than this office.
I honestly loved going here to get my eye exam. All of the staff were really kind and understanding. I forgot my insurance card and had pictures on my phone so they just had me email it to them instead. The doctor was also very nice and there was not an awkward or uncomfortable moment of silence when I was there.
Professional, caring staff, modern clean facilities. Dr. Sandler is just the best! His relaxed manner communicates complex medical details making them easy to understand. I have a very high confidence with this provider.
It was a full house so the wait was long, but the staff remained cheerful and so the wait was not at all annoying. Seeing Dr. Sanders see patient after patient without a break and still greet each one with a smile earned much respect for me
I was not going to write this review, but after receiving a letter from Dr. Sandler's office last week, stating Dr Sandler will no longer see me as a patient, I decided I need to speak up about this office.
I've been seen regularly by Dr. Sandler for just about two years. I've been seen for the same complaint, every single visit; ongoing "scleritis." Basically, the white portion of my eye is swollen, red, and blurry.
No exaggeration, I've been to this office more than 10 times for the same complaint. I've been given the same medication over and over and over. Dr Sandler gave me Toradol eye drops, steroid eye drops, and eventually, they had to give me a medication that increased my eye pressure. To say it shortly, they had me on the steroids, so long, that my eye pressure increased over time, which caused me to developed glaucoma. I then had to take medication's to get my eye pressure down, but the glaucoma is there to stay. Dr. Sandler literally caused me to have glaucoma.
Now, I want to explain the letter they sent me. They sent a letter, hand signed by Dr. Sandler himself, stating they are sending me to collections for the $300 "I owe them," and they will not be seeing me anymore as a patient; but that they would refer me to some providers nearby.
The reason I am indebted to them approximately $300, is because when my eye pressure was elevated from being on steroid eyedrops for about 14 months straight, he had to scan my eye and do a bunch of special tests. Apparently, my insurance didn't cover this, so Dr Sandler's office charged me for these tests. To sum it up, they caused my eye pressure to go up from being on steroid drops for so long, they caused me glaucoma, then they had to test my optic nerve with a special piece of equipment, and charged me for that.
I have great insurance!
Usually, when a doctor causes you a diagnoses, it is paid for by the office. I understand this is one of the only opthomologists around Solano County, but I would stay clear of this office. I've been seen 10+ times for the same exact complaint, over a 2 year period, maybe closer to 20 visits, for the same complaint. I still have no resolution, I am apparently no longer able to be seen by this office, AND they've sent me to collections, for $300.. lol, when they've surely made 10's of thousands from my insurance. The greed is despicable.. wouldn't even work with me to get my insurance to pay this charge for the procedure they caused me to need. Stay away from this office.
