Dr Michel is the best. She spotted something on my exam and recommended I have a follow up with a specialist which I did with 3 specialists at UCSD. Glad I did! She is quick but very thorough and sharp with her exams. Highly recommend getting the photos of your eyes after dilation, worth the extra cost and trouble it could save your eyesight and glad I had Dr Michel as my optometrist!
Trish helped me with selecting two frames that look good and would function well with my 2 progressive prescriptions. She was so kind, patient and knowledgable! I just received my first pair back and she nailed it! Little to no adjustment time in getting used to these glasses. I have had some bad prior experiences with prescriptions so this feels awesome. Costco - give her a raise!
We (my husband, my son, and I) have been going to Dr. Michel for several years now. We were happy with her after our first visit. She's communicative, kind, and thorough. We spend 1/2 our time living in another state. I'm currently in that other state and broke my glasses (one lense fell out). I can't have them fixed locally because my prescription is expired, and I am still wearing them like this, until I can get an appt. With Dr. Michel, because I am that comfortable with her and don't want to spend my time seeing anyone else.
I had an appt today with Dr Michel, I was running a few mins late & I did call the office to let the staff know that I would be running behind , no problem at all & the staff appreciated the call. I have been going to Dr Michel for several years now, Dr Michel is the sweetest & kindest person you could meet, she has SO much patience & answers ALL your questions, I had a few concerns today & Dr Michel kindly addressed them & explained as to what was happening with my vision, everything was fine.
If you find yourself needing to go visit a vision center I HIGHLY recommend this location, if I could give Dr Michel & her team a 10 star I would
I am typically not one to leave bad reviews but I have never been more disappointed with a service before. I paid a pretty hefty bill to be fitted for contacts only to leave with a trial pair that was "close" to my prescription and not receive a prescription for contacts. I was told that I should have a follow up appointment in 5 days. It has been almost a month and I haven't heard anything. When I called today to just cancel the trial pair and get my money back there was nothing they could do to help. I would definitely avoid if possible!
I'll preface this by noting that, were I reviewing ONLY my perception of the doctors exam, it would be more favorable. I was not pleased with a number of factors. I won't go into minute details. Although I had an appointment, I waited 30 min. to be seen. I was quoted one price for the exam, the bill was more than double that amount. I wear a progressive lens, for contacts I was given (gratis, thank you) a sample of one prescription to try, and told if it didn't work for me, "just drop in and I'll give you the other, we'll see which works best for you." I live 2.5 hours drive away, in Baja, and visit once a month, in conjunction with a treatment a Moore's Cancer Centre. I cannot use the contacts I was given. I called numerous times, being told this transaction would require an appointment with the doctor, who is in on a limited schedule. Nine months after my appointment, I am told that "it's been too long, you'll have to schedule another eye exam." I am 69 years old, have worn glasses since I was 8 yrs old. My prescription has changed four times over that period. It's unnecessary. Particularly at $178. So, end result, because I am here two days at most every month, and the doctor has a very limited schedule here, I may have had a good eye exam, but I have zero to show for it... not being able to use the prescription for contact lenses that I was given. That does not bode well for a senior citizen on a limited income. The staff I interacted with, aside from the doctor, were curt, and unfriendly, clearly 'customer service' is not a priority here. The doctor is professional, but clearly not interested in accommodating, or resolving, my particular need. Bottom line, you can get (much) better elsewhere.
The experience getting our glasses was fine, but the quality of the lenses was surprisingly subpar. Typically, everything I get from Costco is excellent quality, but these lenses are already scratched on both pairs after only 6 months of use, the lenses are so scratched, they need to be replaced. We've been getting glasses for 10 years and this was our first (and last) time getting them from Costco. We've never had this issue with any other pairs. I took them back to the store. The rep said we he might be able to do a one-time exception to replace the lenses, but my boys would have to be without their glasses for an undetermined amount from of time. Obviously, that wouldn't work. I would steer clear due to lack of quality. The slight money savings is not worth it.
I always know what I am getting at the Costco Vision Center. Their information is very clear. This time I just had the lenses replaced in my three year old eyeglasses. The coating was coming off around the edges. The Costco Vision Tech suggested that avoiding any eyeglass wipes that contain alcohol will extend the life of the antireflective coating. I walked right up on a Wednesday afternoon to drop off my glasses; however, it was a 20 minute wait to pick them up just after opening on the Friday morning. It took 8 days to complete my order.
