I had a truly terrible experience at Dr. Lucas' optometry office, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place if you value your eyes, time, and money. From the beginning, the service was unprofessional in every aspect. Dr. Lucas prescribed glasses that were much too strong for my eyes. I immediately experienced dizziness, headaches, and eye strain, and I could not read properly. When I returned for a second exam, he gave me another prescription, but again it was too strong. Ten days later, when I got the new glasses, I still could not see comfortably--whether on my phone, laptop, or reading. On the third visit, instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake, Dr. Lucas became dismissive and rude. He even asked me what number I wanted for my prescription. I told him that if I could prescribe my own glasses, I wouldn't need to see him. Rather than listening to my concerns, he gave me long, unnecessary explanations about the prescription numbers, which only made things worse. All I wanted was the right lenses to be able to read comfortably. The front desk staff was equally rude and unhelpful. Michelle, in particular, acted as if my concerns were personal attacks. Making appointments and picking up glasses was a nightmare. In total, I had to go there six times for one pair of glasses. Eventually, I gave up and told Dr. Lucas the prescription I wanted myself--and that finally worked better than what he gave me. To put it in perspective: for my right eye, he first prescribed +2.50, but when I asked for +1.75 instead, I could see clearly. That says a lot about the accuracy of his exams. On top of that, because they changed my lenses three times using heat, my own frame (which I had to provide, since my insurance wouldn't cover another one) was damaged. The coating around the lens started peeling just days after I picked them up. One lens even had a fingerprint smudge permanently embedded. When I called about it, Dan at the front desk was rude and dismissive, telling me they couldn't do anything and that I should call my insurance instead. I originally chose this office because of the high reviews on Google and Yelp, but after my experience, I can't understand how those reviews are genuine. Either people don't realize the harm, or the reviews are not authentic. Bottom line: This office is unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful. They wasted my time, damaged my frame, and put my eye health at risk. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid Dr. Lucas' office. Update: Let's set the record straight: Dr. Lucas and his staff never told me not to return -- that's a lie. I was the one who made the decision, and I told them very clearly that I never want to come back to this office and I never want to see any of them again. I had problems with both pairs of glasses. First prescription, second prescription -- both were wrong. I couldn't use the computer properly, and I couldn't even use my mobile phone without issues. The lines stretched, the images distorted, zooming in and out nonstop, with no stable vision at all. Even Dr. Lucas himself looked surprised that he couldn't get it right. That's unacceptable for someone who calls himself a doctor. And let's be blunt: when Dr. Lucas came close to me, his breath was disgusting. It made me feel sick. A doctor who works face-to-face with patients should know better than to come that close without basic hygiene. It's unprofessional, it's disrespectful, and it shows a complete lack of awareness. This isn't just about bad lenses. This is about dishonesty, lack of professionalism, and a staff that only pretends to be nice until you have a complaint. The moment you do, their true face shows -- and it's ugly.

My husband referred me. It was a great experience! The doctor was great, the tech was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of frames. Very good experience. I would recommend to anyone and the parking was easy behind the building with a nice open lot.

What a great experience ! Loved the staff and Dr. Bruce Lucas gave me extraordinary care and took the time to do a thorough eye exam and contact lens fitting along with getting to know me. This was my first visit and I am happy with my decision to switch optometrists. Highly recommended !

Personal Care Optometry helped me out big time when a contact popped out while I was driving and was in a bit of an emergency. The nicest staff I've ever come across in an ophthalmologist office, definitely will be back!

I recently had an exam with Dr. Lucas and I can honestly say it was one of the best healthcare experiences I've had. From the moment I walked in, the office staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Lucas was very thorough with the exam and made me feel confident about my eye health. Don took the time to help me with eyeglasses and I didn't feel being rushed at all. What stood out to me was the level of professionalism combined with kindness. The office was clean, organized, and equipped with modern technology. I left feeling very grateful for the excellent service I received. Highly recommended to everyone.

I called Monday at 9a for an emergency appointment.. Dr Lucas was able to see me at 945a. I was done by 10a. Always get great service from everyone. Very kind and helpful.

Dr. Lucas is the Optometrist to go to. He is a rare gem especially when it comes to Multifocal Contact Lenses. I went through 4 different doctors and they could not figure out my prescription and I gave up on it until one day I found Dr. Lucas. He is very patient and works to make sure you can see well from them.

Personal Care Optometry is really personal. They really care. Dr. Lucas and the whole staff is almost like family. I feel blessed that they are part of our life.
