ABBA Eye Care - Gunnison

I had an appointment with ABBA Eye Care in Gunnison that was scheduled months in advance. I called the office today, October 27, 2025, to request a prescription refill from my pharmacy, only to find out that Dr. Robbins has not been working at this facility since September. The office never contacted me to reschedule or to notify me that the doctor had left and that a new doctor would be arriving. Had I not called today, I would have shown up next week for my appointment, only to discover there was no doctor available until December. It is very unprofessional of this facility to ignore patients and act as though this is not a serious issue. The lack of communication from this office is unacceptable. I was also informed that I cannot get a prescription refill until I schedule an appointment with a new doctor, which will take additional time. I even called the ABBA main office in Colorado Springs, but the person who could address this matter was unavailable, and no one could tell me when she would return. After being a loyal customer for over a decade, I believe it is time to leave this company due to its lack of professionalism and poor communication.

Friendly and helpful staff! New doctor is engaging and knowledgeable. I'll certainly continue with ABBA for future needs.

Note to All, I was visiting Gunnison Colorado going from almost sea level in Texas to the elevation of around 7800 feet at the airport. Upon arrival at the airport I was bending over and handling & unloading some heavy equipment. I burst a blood vessel in my eye. Coworkers were alarmed at the bubbles rising in my eye and the blood dispersing throughout my internal eye. As a precaution, we looked up Eye Facilities in Gunnison. ABBA Eye Care had great reviews and was actually the closest to us. We called from the airport and explained what had happened. Even with a booked full schedule they told me to swing by their office and they would try to work me in. The staff was full of the sweetest ladies. They worked me in for the exam in less than an hour. Dr Robbins is extremely intelligent, cordial, and a fine knowledgeable eye doctor. I am hard to impress and he was excellent. He did an great job explaining in detail what had occurred and what my options were. I highly recommend this location. Outstanding office. I plan to return to Gunnison In October and I will be bringing gifts back for the staff and Doctor Robbins!

They are so wonderful. They were extremely professional and helpful! They did a lot to help with my allergies as well!

I forgot to pack my contacts on our trip to Crested Butte this past weekend, and only realized it several hours before I was meant to propose to my (now) Fiance! The lovely people at ABBA Eyecare in Gunnison were able to help me out in a pinch, and the engagement party all went on schedule - with clear vision!! Thank you so much for your quick help! You kept our surprise Engagement Weekend going without problem (and you didn't even know it!)

Had a great experience from the friendly and helpful staff to quick and knowledgeable doctor. He explained why my eye sight is the way it is and got my prescription to 20/20.

The service in this place just blows the doors off. You walk in the front door to a warm and cozy atmosphere. The front desk staff are kind and helpful. And the doctor, Dave, is great at making you comfortable, and clearly explaining things. The technology they have is great for getting a simple eye scan (no dilation needed), and there was absolutely no pressure to purchase anything (eg glasses) from their business.

Everyone here is super friendly and Dr. Aigner is amazing!
