Alachua Family Eye Care

I have been a patient of Dr. Avonda for several years now and always receive a thorough and excellent exam. The office staff and technicians go over and above to assist with selecting new glasses and dealing with insurance. I recently had a rather complicated and time-sensitive issue with my glasses and was leaving for a trip. Debbie went over and above while I was out of town to find a solution for me. I have recommended this practice to others and will continue to do so.

Brought my mom in for 2 appointments a couple months apart. The wait times are TERRIBLE. The first time, we waited almost an hour past her scheduled appointment time. Today was the follow-up appointment and we got there 30 minutes before her appointment. Minutes ticked by. Forty minutes after her appointment time, they still had not called her in to be seen. I went to the front desk (very nice ladies manning the desk) and asked for my mom's records and we left the office. We will not be returning. Our time is worth more and they obviously do not respect the time of their patients or caregivers. If you choose to go there, bring a couple good books to read.

My eyeglass lense fell out and I could not get a proper screw to put it back together.I stopoed Alachua Family Eye Care....The receptionist was super friendly and took my glasses and told me to take a seat. Abount 8 minutes later Debbie called me over to get my repaired glasses. She would not take any money and treated me like their best customer. I have never been there before, but with their kindness and concern I will be back when I get another set of glasses.. AAAAA+++++

We had a great experience here. Dr. Avonda is so personable and friendly. Excellent exam and PERFECT script. I see so well with my new glasses. Amber is an amazing tech and Office Manager. First and foremost, Amber pointed me in the right direction for better use of optometry tools to correct my vision. She was informative and a pleasure to work with, Charlotte was also helpful too. Dr Avonda was certainly a pleasure working with and is very knowledgeable and Debbie is absolutely a joy to pick out frames with, I recommend this place to anyone who cares about their vision, these folks will take care of you.

I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years, so I have had a lot of eye exams, Today was the most thorough eye exam that I have ever had. Amanda and Dr. Avonda were outstanding. While waiting in the lobby I watched how good the other employees were. They were responsive, professional and kind to other clients. Highly recommend.

Dr. Avonda, his wife Debbie, and the entire staff are wonderful! My experiences at Alachua Family Eye Care have always been pleasant! I am an ex-professional football player, who relocated to Alachua County, diagnosed with diabetes and in the last couple of years have had to meet the challenge of being a bi-lateral amputee. Finding a Primary Optometrist who was sensitive to the needs of their clients with disabilities was extremely important to me. After reviewing many reviews and websites I was Super Interested in Alachua Family Eye Care. The page on Dr. Avonda's website dedicated to Accessibility is exactly what I was looking for and needed. Yesterday, June 20, 2024, I attended my first appointment and was Extremely Overwhelmed with, not only the office and equipment, but first it was very easy to travel and locate the office. Next the parking and front access was very accessible. Now, here comes the Super Great part of my visit, the office is arranged and organized for all clients, Including the disabled. However, Even More Important, the Staff, starting with my check-in, was More than Outstanding. I did not have to sit and complete two hours of paperwork, or worse have to stand and complete two hours of paperwork. My wait was a very very short wait and after being called I was treated like Royalty to prepare for my exams. The next Wonderful Professional who assisted me through the initial part of the exam, Amber or Amberly, demonstrated even more a sense of ownership. Now, I cannot say enough about Dr. Avonda. He left me with the feeling of being at ease and knowing I made the RIGHT CHOICE and a feeling that I AM A LIFETIME Client and Patient. I cannot EVER SEE myself going anywhere else, Not only to another eye Physician, but to another County or State.
