Dr. Johnson and his staff are absolutely wonderful. He's very knowledgeable and kind. I felt very comfortable and at ease here.

My daughter had an eye injury and the office fit her in same day, staff was sweet, and the doctors chair side manner was phenomenal! My daughter left laughing and feeling better 10/10.

My appointment with the dr. went well. The experience I had with the office staff was horrendous. Rude. I have a strong prescription. Would not listen to my concerns about the glasses I ordered (and overpaid). Would not agree to a refund and left me sit and wait for more than 20 minutes. Not sure why or what she was doing. Maybe she thought I would give up and leave? She insisted the polycarbonate lens she ordered was same weight as the high index I was currently wearing. Wrong. I am caring for dying patients every day and it is inconvenient to have my glasses fall off my face. For the amount of money I paid for the lenses I would have expected high index. They finally agreed to a refund but would not refund the same way I paid and I was told they would send a check. She would not tell me when. 2 weeks later and still no refund. Called the office and they still would not tell me when I would receive a refund. 4 weeks later I received a check after I filed a dispute on my credit card. Now I called to get a copy of my prescription emailed to me. The refund was for the glasses only. I paid for the dr. visit. I did not receive it as promised. Incredibly poor customer service and the person who fits glasses does not do her job well. Next time I will wait for an appointment with Sevigny & assoc.

Dr. Johnson and staff are always ready and willing to care for my family and me. We have been his patients for many years. Have never been dissatisfied with the service. Always a pleasant experience.

I am so disgusted by this eye doctor. After making 2 appointments, I am not pushed back again and arrive 15 minutes early appointments with this doctor, I am not pushed off again. I arrive 15 minutes early anticipating paperwork. I had been to this doctor approx 5 years prior. After filling out paperwork and the office staff scanning my insurance cars and dl I returned it to staff. Then I was told my portion of today's visit was 20.00. I replied I have no deductible or copay with my special needs insurance. Staff replied this was for a refractory fee that insurance does not cover. I expressed on phone my insurance and asked if there was any deductible because there was not suppose to be. This is nothing short of extortion and I immediately reported them to insurance company on ride back to lake placid, 28 miles each way. Bad doctor, bad place.

We love Dr. Johnson! He always has interesting travel pictures (scrolling on his computer screen) & interesting info to discuss....he is thorough & we appreciate it! I've been his patient for MANY years when he joined forces with Dr. Sevigny...Another plus: his staff is friendly & efficient as well. It's easy to get an appointment, too! He is now my children's eye doctor as well!

This business just lost 2 customers. You may have good doctors but your front desk staff MATTERS. Being a small town, I felt confident referring my husband here knowing he would receive adequate attention. I called the office over a week ago to order my husbands contacts. The young lady I spoke with stated she would look up his information and assured me "someone WILL call you back" which I felt was rather odd that she felt the need to tell me that. No call back. My husband calls a few days later, was placed on hold for 20 min, finally was able to speak to someone. He stated he wanted to order a box of new contacts and asked if he could receive a trial pair until his order arrived. The woman he spoke with told him that was "illegal" and refused to do that. My husband asked to speak to a supervisor, long story short, asked for his prescription so he could order from a different business, he was met with contention but eventually received the requested information. I call today because I had a question about the prescription, I was immediately placed on hold and hung up after 20 min. I called back, they tried placing me on hold again, I stated I was just on hold for 20 min and then she was able to assist me. I spoke to 3 different women and FINALLY got my question answered. I think everyone is tired of hearing the "we're short staffed" excuse. Being short staffed is no reason for POOR customer service. Being put on hold indefinitely is not acceptable. Not calling customers back is not acceptable. Not taking care of your customers is not acceptable. There are plenty of other businesses we can spend our hard earned money with. I'm sure the employees that work here don't like spending THEIR money at a business to receive bad customer service, why do YOU treat others that way??

My son just had a followup visit with Dr. Terry Johnson after being fitted with contacts a few days ago. I can't say enough good about Dr. Johnson. He is unbelievably thorough and I've never sensed that we were just someone keeping him from his next appointment. He patiently answers any question asked of him and he clearly knows his craft. Furthermore, it appears that he really loves his craft. Full disclosure here - we have been casual friends with Dr. Johnson (Terry to us) for 20 plus years. That goes back to before he was even an optometrist. You could argue that we get preferential treatment but, from my observations in the office, I don't think so. My mother and mother-in-law also use him as their optometrist and they also speak very highly of the care that they get from him. I very rarely post reviews but felt that the care that Terry provided to my son today more than justified taking the time to post this. There was never a hint of suggestion from Terry to post this review. It is entirely unsolicited.
