My husband and I were looking for a new eye doctor after moving to Lake County. We had heard good things about Central Florida Eye Center and made appointments with Dr. Glass. We were very impressed with how organized and efficiently run the office was, and especially impressed with Dr. Glass. She performed a very thorough exam and then explained the results of the tests and her findings in a way that was easy to understand. She answered all of our questions and we did not feel rushed.
Each one of the technicians that assisted in my eye exam was very kind and curtious, they were very knowledgeable in everything they did. Made me feel very comfortable and felt that I was taken very excellent care.
I dearly love Dr Glass! I liked how she showed me all the pictures that were taken of my eyes and she explained each test that was given! Excellent Excellent Customer Care from beginning to the very end of my appointment.
Thank you Central Florida Eye for all you do!! GREAT TEAM OF EMPLOYEES!
Very attentive staff! Dr. Glass is extremely personable and worked to get the prescription right making me feel like I'm not just another patient she's trying to get in and out the door. The contact fitting felt the same way. Not rushed and all the right questions were asked to make sure what I was trying was comfortable and appropriate for me. The eyeglass staff continued the same approach. Patiently allowing me to go through multiple frames before picking what I wanted. As expected, a far cry from any of the big chains I've ever gone to. Glad to be back with Central Florida Eye Center!
I have been "seeing" Dr. Verkaik for many years. Her excellent ability to diagnose, and guide immediate treatment have kept my eyes doing what they need to be doing. Her entire team is excellent, professional, and caring. Go see them!
I was conflicted about giving one star because for the majority of my time as a patient, Dr. Gatson and Dr. Verkaik took very good care of me. However, for the past few years, my appointments were with new providers. I had been a patient for 38 years and continued to drive 2 hours after I relocated to Tampa in 2018. I didn't want to end my relationship with the practice. In June 2025, I was diagnosed with having small cataracts that were supposedly too small for insurance to pay for. I'd been on chemo earlier in the year and was told that it was probably a result of that. With everything else that I had going on, I accepted the fact that it was another new normal. I also couldn't see out of the contact lenses that were prescribed so I never finalized my prescription and ordered new lenses. After 7 months of struggling to see, I decided to find a provider closer to me. My mindset was that if they were going to keep assigning me to new people, I could go to someone new in Tampa. Not only did my new eye doctor assure me that I had been misdiagnosed with cataracts, , but I see better now than I have in years. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket for exam with the new eye doctor, because I used my insurance benefits in June 2025. I sent an email to the practice, and at the very least, I expected a phone call. I did receive an email, and they did not take accountability for what they had put me through for 7 months, Dealing with cancer is challenging mentally, but when you are led to believe that you have cataracts at age 53 and that there is nothing that can be done about it, just compounded the issue. Not to mentioned how I've struggled with my sight, especially driving at night. I was very loyal to that practice for 38 years, referring people there for many years. Yet, I wasn't even worth a phone call
Very friendly staff, and excellent care. I did not have to wait for anything, and I had several tests. Everyone was efficient and professional, and I was very impressed with the doctor, Dr. Robyn Glass. She showed me each test result and explained those results clearly, and took the time to answer my questions. I don't remember ever receiving this level of care where my sight is concerned, and I've been wearing glasses for 65 years. I can't recommend this eye center enough!
I came here today and saw Dr. Viviana Rios, after feeling like I have something in my eye for the last couple of weeks. When I originally called to schedule an appointment, I spoke with Sierra, who was able to get me an appointment very quickly. The office is easy to find, it is big, and very beautiful inside! It's clean, seats are taped off to abide by social distancing guidelines, and staff is friendly and helpful! Dr. Rios was able to do some tests where she was able to see that there was indeed something in my eye. She answered all of the questions that I had, and even double checked my eye to make sure everything was out of there. I liked my experience so much that I'm going to continue coming here to get my eyes checked, as well as get new glasses and contacts. I definitely recommend Central Florida Eye Center!
Staff professional and courteous.
However, Dr. Verkaik is excellent. Her thoroughness and honesty is exceptional. No hesitation recommending her.
