Broward Eye Care

I've been a patient at Broward Eye Care for 3 years now. On this visit, I was greeted by Eden, the technician for the office, who handled all the testing before meeting with Dr. Panagos. Dr. Panagos reviewed the results, then consulted with me and felt a slight change in prescription for my scleral lenses would help. Lenses were ordered and will be mailed to my home address, very convenient for me. Having said that, I have always felt extremely comfortable with their staff as well as Dr. Panagos and Dr. Bascombe, who examined me once last year. They explain everything in great detail and take their time to ensure my exams will give me the best possible vision I can have with scleral lenses. I've never felt rushed and their expertise is unmatched. Their front desk staff and technicians have always been pleasant as well and the entire experience is A+++.

Dr.Bascome is by far the best eye doctor in Broward County And I would have to say all of South Florida. He's super Knowledgeable and he listens very well. He checks up on you after your visit to see how you're doingThe facilities are Very clean and super modern. Great experience from The start.

Excellent pediatric eye care. We were able to come in on very short notice, and after a short wait we were helped. Dr. Panagos did an extensive analysis of my daughter's vision situation, with a great prognosis and solution. Thank you very much.

I was new to the area and looking for an optometrist with so many choices. It was a challenge, but this one had great reviews and was close. I can now see why it has such great reviews. Super clean super nice and state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. P as she asked me to call her lol is awesome. Highly recommend.

My eye team for many years. The staff is pleasant. Dr Bascome is a great doctor. They have the latest technology and handle my cornea disease. It's also a reaching office which is a good thing.

I'm a registered nurse and this is my second time visiting Broward Eye Care. The first time I came was about a year ago when I was having flashing lights in my vision. Dr. Panagos saw me and I remember how thorough, calm, and professional she was. Recently my glasses broke and I had been using an old backup pair, so I made it a point to find this office again specifically because of her. Before my appointment I received multiple calls asking about contact lenses and whether I planned to do contact lens testing. I understand offices need that information, but it was asked several times both before and during the visit even after I explained I rarely wear contacts and was fine using whatever my insurance covers. My main concern today was the interaction with the front desk staff member who handles billing and contact lens discussions. I tried to get her name but unfortunately the front staff were not wearing badges, which made it difficult to identify who I was speaking with. After my exam my eyes were dilated, so I asked her to read my prescription to me since my vision was blurry. When she read it, I realized my glasses prescription reflected a change even though I had already discussed keeping my contact prescription at my previous numbers with the doctor and she was completely fine with that. I simply asked to clarify the glasses prescription as well. The response I received felt dismissive and somewhat condescending, as if I did not understand how prescriptions work or had never worn glasses before. I even offered to speak directly with the doctor myself, but she insisted on going back instead. She did return with the updated prescription, which I appreciated, but the overall tone throughout the interaction did not feel patient-centered. As someone who works in healthcare, I deal with the public every day and understand patients can ask repetitive questions or need reassurance. That is part of caring for people. Tone and communication matter just as much as clinical care. I want to be very clear that Dr. Panagos herself is excellent. She is knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely listens. That is why I returned to this office in the first place and honestly the only reason I would consider coming back. The clinical care is strong. Improving the front desk customer service would elevate the entire experience because right now there is a noticeable difference between the doctor's bedside manner and the front office interaction.

I went to see Dr. Bascome for scleral lenses and had an excellent experience. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly. The level of care was outstanding, and the practice has some of the best technology I've seen. I felt well cared for throughout the entire visit and would highly recommend Dr. Bascome to anyone needing specialized eye care.
