Vision Center

This was my first visit to a Walmart Vision Center. It was a weekday morning in the spring of 2025. I went in the morning to avoid possible crowds, both at Walmart and the Vision Center itself. Although it is in its own little section at the front of the Walmart cash registers, the vision center front is open to the main Walmart, and can be on the loud side. Not to mention, less privacy than a more private setting. Although this setting probably less expensive than more traditional vision centers. It wasn't overly busy by any means when I visited. They did seem to have two or three normal employees to staff the center (maybe more) while I was there. They handle the glasses / frames and such aspect of the vision center. Eye exams and such are performed by the folks in the back section of the vision center. Those staffers also handle any needed referrals to specialists if needed. The waiting section for exams and such was a small area with just a few hard plastic chairs overlooking the rest of the vision center. I took an eye exam, which was the purpose of my visit. Optometrist Dr.Jennifer Roman administered my actual exam. I found her to be quite thorough. More so than I expected at a Walmart. My apologies to Dr. Roman for arriving with lower expectations than I should have had. Thank you for doing a fine and thorough exam. So far, my experience far exceeded my expectations. Walmart vision center is by no means perfect. But they were much better than what I was expecting. I would probably return if the need arises in the future.
