My experience at this location was great. It was my 1st time on the west side but the receptionists were very nice and made checking in easy. Wonderful care, VERY helpful explanations offered throughout each individual exam! I have to mention the technician who got me ready for the doctor I believe her name was Maon. This young lady is exceptional! She is very pleasant, intelligent, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Her exam was so thorough I thought she was the doctor seeing me until she took me to a different room to see Dr. Adams who was also amazing. Highly recommend!
Here, they make money easy! There's no guarantee of quality. The South Florida Eye Center charged me $300 from my insurance and $260 out of pocket just for the progressive lenses. I brought my own frames. Total: $560.00. I thought it would be worth it if they fixed my vision problems.
But the lenses fixed NOTHING! The prescription was wrong, and I couldn't focus. I went back to have them adjusted, and a young woman told me I had to put my laptop higher, my cell phone farther away, etc. I finally insisted, and they gave me an appointment to check them and get a new prescription. I went yesterday; there was only one patient waiting, and another one arrived after me. When it was my turn, they called the other patient, and since they were taking too long, I asked for an explanation as to why I hadn't been seen. Since they didn't give me any explanation, I asked for a refund. Iliana Toral and another woman left very upset, saying that I had signed a document stating there was no refund guarantee, that they could only repair the lenses. How many times do we have to go, how long do we have to wait, and how much time do we have to waste? Just to be bored? I don't recommend it... THERE IS NO GUARANTEE! I lost $560.00.
Dr. Toral is amazing. Helpful and caring always. The receptionist is the sweetest person, very helpful and a beautiful attitude. The sales associate and contact lenses, Giuliani is also an amazing lady. She takes the time with her customers making sure you are completely happy and satisfied.
If they have to call your insurance to verify benefits, then they don't want you as a customer/patient. I had to do their job for them due to their incompetence and laziness. I told one of their staff how another office found the information and her exact words were, "then go back there". I only came here because it was closer but after this sickening experience, going to the other office is worth the drive. Another staff member promised to call me back after calling my insurance and getting the info, but she never did. They brush you off when you try to follow up with them and never follow up with you.
Unfortunately, I also had a terrible experience here. They are truly only interested in your money. The wait felt like an eternity, and I found the same frames they sold me for half the price online. It's a shame.
I've been a patient at the Eye Center of South Florida for many years, and I cannot speak highly enough about the care and service my family and I have consistently received.
My primary Optometrist, Dr. Iliana Toral, has cared for me and my children with the utmost professionalism, patience, and compassion. She takes the time to thoroughly explain every aspect of the exam and always makes us feel comfortable and informed. On one occasion, she detected a possible retinal condition and referred me to Dr. Tommy Apara, a specialist. After several follow-ups, I was cleared, but I'm grateful that Dr. Toral's attentiveness brought it to my attention in the first place. Her expertise and diligence truly make a difference.
I've also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Morvarid Fallahzadeh over the years, and she is equally wonderful--patient, knowledgeable, and always a delight to work with. It's clear this office has built a team centered on professionalism, kindness, and teamwork.
Beyond the doctors, the staff is outstanding. From the moment you walk in, the environment is warm and welcoming, and the wait times are always minimal. When it comes to selecting glasses, Guiliana is simply the best. She's incredibly knowledgeable and patient, helping me and my family find the right fit and style, all while keeping our budget in mind. No matter how many frames we try on, she never loses her smile and is always willing to go the extra mile.
I also want to acknowledge Alie, Natalie, and Milagros, who are consistently friendly, professional, and make every visit a pleasant experience.
The Eye Center of South Florida is truly a model of what great eye care should be: excellent doctors, a caring team, and a welcoming environment. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding eye care for themselves and their family.
