Woolfson Eye Institute - Canton

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Woolfson Eye Institute in Canton and would not recommend them based on their complete lack of basic scheduling competence. I originally had a consultation scheduled for today. I called ahead to see if I could move the appointment to next week, only to be told their next availability was a month out. Because of that, I decided to keep my original appointment. When I arrived in person today, after driving all the way there, I was told my appointment had been canceled and never reinstated, and that someone else had taken my slot. The receptionist openly admitted this was their mistake, yet there was absolutely no attempt to resolve the situation. To make matters worse, the doctor who would have done the consult "couldn't fit me in" because she had just returned from leave. So despite their internal error, the burden was placed entirely on me - the patient - who lost time, gas, and a day of planning. This wasn't a minor inconvenience; it was a wasted trip caused by poor communication and careless scheduling. For a medical practice, especially one dealing with people's eyesight, this level of disorganization is unacceptable. If you value your time and expect a professional healthcare experience, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

My husband (a teacher) made an appointment and had to wait 6 weeks. He had a referral from one of the other Woolfson clinics to see a specialist. After driving an hour and a half to get to the appointment he was told he wouldn't be able to use his insurance. He was told he could pay cash or reschedule the appointment. Why didn't they call to let him know, this is the worst front office staff we have encountered. A simple phone call could have eliminated his drive and missing a day at work. If I could give less than a one star I would. I have a message in to the clinic manager , let's see if she returns my call.

Would like to share how wonderful my first cataract surgery went with Dr Weiner. The surgery center in Towne Lake was excellent, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and my needs were met. The nurse getting me ready for surgery was kind and caring and explained what all was going to take place. Also after I was home, Dr Weiner called to see how I was doing! Best of all, I am seeing better than ever and looking forward to having my other eye done in a couple of weeks! Let Dr Weiner do your cataract surgery, you won't be disappointed!

The doctor and nurses are fantastic. However, the scheduling of surgery and appointments is a nightmare. We were told that post op visits could be in Canton. They could not. It is even written on the paperwork post op would be in Canton. Second cataract surgery was yesterday. Follow up was to be today. No one has contacted us for this appointment. We have left messages and emails. If you are a caregiver that needs to know when appointments are, don't use this group. They act like you are supposed to be able just to drop what you are doing to show up for an appointment!

I am a fairly new patient. I just had my second visit today. However, both times I have been there, the wait has been extremely long! I do love Dr. Weiner though.....so it's been worth the wait!

From the moment I walked in the door, Christina was friendly and an absolute pleasure to be around. The office is very quaint. Ashley was very kind and even held my hand during the procedure that Dr. Liou so gently handled for my eye. So grateful to have found this place, after many appointments with other well known clinics that weren't successful. Thank y'all for being wonderful!!!

Ashley was extremely kind and thorough in her initial examination in prep to see Dr. Dyak. Dr. Dyak has been a fantastic doctor every time I've met with her. She takes the time to ensure all of my questions are answered. I look forward to continuing to come to Woolfson at the Canton location.

We were not sure about why my husband was referred to Dr. Yoder. My husband has shunts which control his eye pressure. He has his pressure checked every 3-6 weeks with retina specialist and his previous glaucoma specialist who has decades of experience not 3 years saw my husband every 6-months. Dr. Yoder has no more tools in her toolbox other than duplication of services and she only wants to check his pressure every 4-months. Going elsewhere to a more experienced physician who can do more than just check pressures.
