Dr Ed Shannon Jr

So I had to switch optometrist due to an insurance plan change. Dr. Shannon was one of the few who took it. I am so glad I did. I've been getting glasses since o was a child and numerous times there is always that "adjusting period" with new glasses. I didn't have that this time. The glasses were the absolute perfect prescription. Turns out I was wearing too strong of a prescription. I've never had an optometrist check not just my distance vision but mid distance and reading distance. They didn't try and up charge me on my glasses and in fact since my old frames were still in great shape they used them to make new sunglasses so all I had to cover was the lenses. I am so thankful for Dr. Shannon and have never had a pair of prescription glasses that fit me so well.

We just transferred to Dr. Shannon's practice, based on a ton of friends and colleagues recommendations, and had our first visit. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by the amazing receptionist/doctor's assistant, then Dr. Shannon is so friendly, down to earth, funny, and so knowledgable. He started our visit off talking about a charity he helped found to save elephants in Thailand. Then, through the whole visit he made us feel so comfortable with his friendly demeanor and calm presence. After the exam, we met with Rodney, the Optician, who helped us pick out the perfect glasses! Bonus: we are getting hand made glasses and a white glove service for half the price of where we were going previously. We have definitely found out new optometrist!

My family has been going to him for years now. Nothing but the best!

I wish I could give more than five stars. This was the best experience I've had with any business, but especially a doctor's office. They made time for me even though they were very busy. Everyone there was extremely nice and knowledgeable. I'm in my mid 30s and I've been wearing glasses since the third grade. I've never had a pair this precise and this high of quality for such a great price! Truly a blessing!!

Dr. Shannon and staff made me feel right at home! Got a little history lesson of the business and what Dr Shannon was all about. Dr. Shannon is a straight shooter and that's what I like and that is EXACTLY why I will be back. I've already mentioned him to my family and closest friends! If you're in between eye doctors or have never had one before you should really consider going here. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't! Thanks again, guys! Y'all rock!

I LOVE Dr. Ed Shannon!! It was the best experience I've ever had! He is so down to earth and easy to talk to. I have always felt under pressure at other eye exams, but Dr. Shannon is so relaxing. It was like talking to an old friend.

The staff at Dr. Shannon's office are amazing. (Dr. Shannon is pretty awesome too.) There is one person in particular there that is amazing, her name is Sandy. She is proficient at everything, from taking care of patients, greeting patients, and working the front desk. She does all of that with the happiest disposition. She always greets me with a smile. It is such a pleasure to walk in there and made to feel like you are not just welcome, but they are truly happy to see you and help you. What a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much. I went to Ed Shannon Sr as a child and Dr.Ed Shannon JR is the best.He is caring, informative and had the most up to date equipment in Gainesville. I LOVE HIM.
