Optim Medical Center - Screven

The physical therapy department is top notch. They genuinely care about their patients and make you feel comfortable doing therapy. They want you doing your best so that you will be at your best when you finish your therapy. We are so fortunate to have this service available to us at Optim Medical Center here in Sylvania. I would recommend their services to anyone needing therapy.

Excellent physical therapy unit. Employees are well trained and communicate well. The staff as a whole actually enjoy helping the wide range of physical therapy patients.

Dr. Reyes and check-in staff and all the nursing staff were so nice and professional to me on that day! I could not have asked for sweeter and more caring nurses! They even walked me to my car following my shot!! As a patient in pain, God bless all of them for caring and helping all of us!!!

I received fast, friendly service here. Was taken straight into an ER room, x-rayed, given a pain shot and told that I have a sacral bone fracture and was discharged all within a few hours.

I came in with heart flutters and chest pains. The staff was AWESOME!! I had to go later in the week to Piedmont in Augusta, which they supposedly specialize in, but that experience was awful. Optim did more testing, was professional, and caring. Thank you to everyone there!!

All of the therapy professionals at Optim Physcal Therapy are great. They work well with me and I watch them have a great relationship with other patients. My only complaint is with the building itself. The A/C doesn't keep the therapy room cool at all. It has been as hot as 85 degrees at times and that is not good for exercising. They have recently added a portable a/c unit that does not do a good job. This would be a 5 star rating if it was not for the building.

I have been to Optim Medical Screven many times over the years. Most of my visits were due to extreme migraines that were so severe I was literally praying for God to take me. My relationship with Optim Medical Screven hasn't always been a positive one. But the day I really needed them, they were there. I had been sick and not feeling the best and I knew something wasn't right. My son took me to the ER and we discovered my blood pressure was even lower then my normal blood pressure usually ran. Everyone worked extremely hard to get me comfortable and figure out what was going on, which included head scan. Mrs. Alice was working and explained everything amazingly to me and I knew by looking at her face I needed to be a little worried. I was out on a special medication to help bring my BP up, but the hospital wasnt equipped to keep me there on the drip, so I needed to be sent to Memorial. We found out going by ground would be much slower and the best option was to fly out. I was so scared, but I remember Mrs. Alice saying this was for the best and I would be in great hands. All of the hospital were amazing and even the ones on the flight were great. We got to Memorial and the doctor asked me if I get headaches or migraines and I said yes, but that wasnt why I was there l. The ER doctor said he knew it wasnt for migraines that I was there, but wanted to know when I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation? I was like a deer caught in headlights. I had no idea. Never heard of it. The ER doctor proceeds to tell me that the scans from Sylvania show i have Chiari Malformation I and he proceeded to explain it and stated he wanted to refer me to Neurosurgeon. I was in shock. See, previously I had already had a MRI because of some series symptoms I was having and my PCP and my Neurologist thinking it was due to possibly having MS. But my Neurologist explained to me that my MRI was clear, so hearing this news from the ER doctor at Memorial was a game changer for me. It meant some type of answer, possibly. After being released from Memorial I was able to get back in touch with my Neurologist and they admitted to it being on the MRI, but it was overlooked. I got in with the Neurosurgeon and had other scans done and found out for sure that my problem ALL my life the severe migraines, vision blurriness, muscle weakness, balance issues, numbness in hands, fear, and face, memory issues, brain fog, etc was due to having Chiari Malformation and having a Syrinx form because of it. Now to the present time, I am recovering from brain surgery. On August 19th I had a Craniectomy, suboccipital with cervical laminectomy for decompression of medulla and spinal cord, with Duraplasty. Very series and intense surgery. I am already seeing progress, but have a long ways to go. Since being home from surgery I have had to visit the ER due to the pain at least 3 times and each time the staff have been amazing. Ben Peacock really was a lifesaver on my 2nd visit. He understood what I was going through and feeling and he advocated for me when it came to the medication I was needing to get some relief. He was understanding and got me in a better place. I did have to go again and Mrs. Amy was working and she was just as amazing as Ben. The compassion, understanding, and empathy they had towards me and my situation was beyond amazing. They didn't make me feel crazy, which is how I have felt so many times when I've been in pain. If it weren't for me going to the ER about feeling bad and it being my BP, there is no telling how much longer I would have went on in the shape I was. This surgery saved me from having permanent neurological issues and possible paralysis. Optim Medical Screven really did save me that day. It was a domino affect and I cant thank them enough.
