I walked into Eye Care Hawaii about a year ago to have my glasses adjusted and they were very accommodating. The aloha spirit is amongst this whole team. It was so memorable I came back when it was time for new glasses. The experience today was stellar from the moment I walked in. Every team member I connected with was top notch, the front desk team, the technicians, the doctor and the team who helped me choose my glasses, Kayla. Mahalo piha for the malama while I was there.

I've been a patient at Eye Care Hawaii for about four years and, up until about three weeks ago, my experiences had always been great. Unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed my opinion.
There were several mistakes made with both my glasses and my daughter's glasses. First, I was charged incorrectly due to an insurance mix-up. Then we were never notified when the glasses arrived, and no one informed me that my daughter's glasses had arrived scratched. When I went in to pick them up, I found out that not all of the glasses were even there yet.
Later that same day, I received a call from the manager, Jenny, telling me they had actually given me the wrong glasses. During that call, she talked over me multiple times and was extremely rude. It was honestly one of the worst customer service interactions I've had.
It's disappointing because I had trusted this office for years, but the recent mistakes and poor communication, along with the way the situation was handled, have made me decide not to return. To t

The doctor took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made me feel completely at ease. Dr. Nakasone was awesome, she was very detailed about what was going on with my eyesight and made me feel comfortable in the office.Both technician where very informative and made me feel comfortable. The ladies at the front desk was very polite and welcoming. The eye glass staff was top notch in helping me find the right and best glass with quick service.
All around a great experience, I would definitely recommend Eye Care Hawaii to my friend and family.

Only eye doctor open 7 days/week in Hilo. Dr. Nakasone removed something stuck in my eye on an emergency basis on a Saturday. She and the entire staff are professional, efficient and friendly. I was lucky bc I thought it was a plugged drainage canal done over 10 years ago by laser for my glaucoma. Uber serious. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

The best eye care place I've been to. Personable, friendly, and very professional. But the minute you walk in the door, you feel very careful. They care for me for emergencies as well as glasses. They help you get fitted and it's very hard to do as it's a big purchase. I can't recommend it enough.
