I'm from Montana, and Dr. Khoa Nguyen stands out from any optometrist I've seen before.
My glasses broke while I was in Kona, and I needed an updated prescription quickly so I could safely drive. I called around and could not find anyone with availability, but Kona Optometrist fit me in last minute. The visit was a full contact lens exam plus a prescription update, and Dr. Nguyen was both thorough and fast, no wasted time, and nothing felt rushed.
What I appreciated most was how clearly he explained my eye health and what I should do for prevention going forward. He answered questions directly, checked everything carefully, and made the whole process feel easy when I was stressed and scrambling. The staff was also welcoming and kind!!! (Amazing Helpful Ladies)

Dr. Khoa Nguyen is the MAN! Recently moved to Kona, and was looking for an optometrist- I called his office and his staff was extremely helpful and they were able to get me in for an appointment expeditiously. Dr. Nguyen actually took his time explaining certain questions I had, and did not rush my appointment at all. I was impressed by his knowledge and thankful for his time and easy-to-understand explanations for all of my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Khoa Nguyen if you're looking for an optometrist. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen, he is a friendly and knowledgeable optometrist that really focuses on your wellbeing. I became a patient after seeking an urgent contact prescription renewal, they squeezed me in the same day. After getting my eye exam he informed me about why my eyes are so itchy and dry and is currently working to address the problem. After years of going to different optometrists and being told my eyes are dry I have never actually had a doctor do more than just give me some hydration drops. After a few weeks I can already feel a big improvement in my eyes. Their office was easy to find and the staff was welcoming. I will continue to see Dr. Nguyen at Kona Optometrist even though I live 45 minutes away, it's worth the drive.

My wife and I were staying in Kona on our honeymoon and I woke up one morning with one eye stinging and blurry vision. I called Kona Optometrist and asked if they had any time that I could be seen; they told me to come in write away and they would squeeze me in.
After meeting with Dr. Nguyen, he found some sand debris in my eye. He remove that, gave me a series of drops, and got me a prescription. He was very kind, more informative than my normal eye doctors back home, and got my eye feeling better.
I'm so glad I went here. Their reviews speak for themselves. They helped me enjoy the rest our honeymoon!
