Dr. Balgemann is truly amazing. He is the best optometrist I've ever had. He does such a thorough exam and goes into so much detail during all the steps. I love that he will even bring up images on his computer to further explain things and provide examples. I would even go so far as to call him an "eye nerd" and this is exactly the type of person I want examining my eyes. I never feel like he rushes the exam or that he misses any of my concerns. I appreciate the fact that he allows my husband and I to sit in on each other's exams, and we now have a running joke competition on who has the best/worst vision. Highly recommended!

Dr. Balgemann is kind, patient and knowledgeable. We had been going to him, but due to Covid schedules, had to see a competitor for a followup visit. It was there that my daughter was traumatized. After returning to Dr. Balgemann, he was able to once again show his expertise and make going to the eye doctor enjoyable once again. He makes going to the eye doctor easy and enjoyable. I can not say enough about how wonderful he is. Thank you for all that you do. You are truly talented.

I have very poor eyes, but am fortunate enough that contact lenses come in strengths just strong enough to suit me. Dr. Balgemann spent a lot of time with me and gave me several different options so I could see and avoid reading glasses. He is very articulate and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend. He also gave me instructions to return should I not be satisfied with the solution he has recommended. Excellent doctor!

Dr. Balgemann is the best optometrist in Champaign! I've been going to this doctor since I was 15 and am now 23! He showed me the first prescription I had ever gotten at my last appointment. Eyes are very interesting, especially when get to hear Dr. Balgemann explain in his comprehensible, passionate ways. I hope to continue to go to this office for many years to come.

Dr. Balgemann is a wildly talented optometrist. I call him The Miracle Worker because he managed to give me a contact lens prescription for my aging eyes that allowed me both to see far away and up close for desk work, even easily reading text messages on my phone. He is often busy, but once you get into his office he takes all the time you need and is very patient and thorough in getting the prescription right. I am so fortunate to have found him & highly recommend him to everyone I know.

I 100% agree with the person who said 'Dr. Balgemann is some kind of genius'. I went to him in 2016 and again this week - he is amazing. Short of receiving a lesson is optometry, I feel like I understand my vision and it's needs. Plus, he plays great music!

This is the best Eye Dr. I have been to. He is very detailed and explains why different things work better for contacts opposed to glasses. My last prescriptions for glasses and contacts were off, yes I could see but after Dr. Balgemann adjusted both, I can see so much clearer!! I highly recommend you see this eye Dr. for you your next exam.
