Jones Optical

My daughter goes to UIUC and needed contacts. She had an exam and they did not give me her prescription because they wanted her to try them first. After a week she called to get her prescription and they said they don't email or fax prescriptions (mind blowing in the age of technology). They mail the prescription to my house (a week later) but just for glasses not contacts.... I called to let them know and a week and a half later and still no prescription. I decided to take her to another office and pay out of pocket for an exam to get a prescription. And I got it RIGHT AWAY. If your child goes to school here and you need an optometrist AVOID THIS PLACE.

Hands-down the best service I have ever received. Came in because my nose pads broke off and they changed it out in 5 minutes for no charge. Everyone was extremely friendly and I will 1000% return!

Love Dr. Sanders but unfortunately the rest of the staff has forced me to never return. From my first appointment, they messed up scheduling (for this one and all 3 try on/follow up appointments after), never called when my contacts and glasses were in, (second pair was in for 2 months before they even called, but at this point I had moved elsewhere for care), had to wait 45+ minutes for a follow up appointment (while I watched staff chatter with no other patients in the office), encountered dirty exam rooms on occasion, and was put down by office ladies when asking questions. I have never had such a poor experience with an office staff putting me down. I can understand if it were one time, but having been in the office 5 times within 2 months and having the same experience each time, I have no respect or tolerance for this. Additionally at my contact fitting (with Pam I believe her name was), she was extremely impatient, constantly grabbing the lens from me with her bare hand, dropping it on the table, and being anything but understanding for a first time contact wearer. The unorganization, lack of communication, and unbelievably rude, impatient, and dismissive office staff unfortunately overshadows Dr. Sanders care and talent. I would like to thank the young college aged girl at the front desk who expressed sympathy and patience to try and help me before her superiors swooped in to shut us both down.

terrible, absolutely terrible. Took me 16+ weeks to get contacts. If you're a college student they will take advantage of you and your time and your money. when they make a mistake they blame it on the manufacturer and they do not keep track if the orders for your contacts have been processed. Very very disorganized, they told me I needed a trial pair of contacts that i've been wearing the same prescription my whole life. Checking out from my appointment and with my "trial pairs" the lady at the front desk tried to overcharge me. The optometrist was very nice though

The best place to get your eyes checked and purchase your Frames. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and the people here care. They want you to be satisfied with your purchase and give great customer service. They stand behind what they sell. Please remember you get what you pay for. Their glasses are worth the wait.

Update: I got a call from the Doctor of Jones who told me how he did not like how I talked to his staff and threatening a review. He kept telling me to stop talking. I told him I did not yell at his staff. I talked in a calm manner the whole time. They may not like that I was not accepting their answers, but then get out of customer service; that's the gig, but working for a doctor who has no customer service and calls to chastise you, what do you expect. American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends that low-risk adults between 18 and 64 have a comprehensive eye exam every two years. I fit in this low risk category, Jones Optical refused to send my prescription, stating it was expired, even though it was only 1 year and a month old, stating all private practices do this. Well I don't know about you, but I am tired of these places doing it just because they can. Jones has shown me the care about their pocket book more than the consumer. It also unprofessional to be laughed at on the phone because I let them know I was unhappy, in a nice professional tone, and I was going to put it on the reviews.

DR Sanders is very professional and I like her very much. The tech ladies have little interest in assisting in choosing a frame that works best for your prescription. I believe they have very little knowledge and whose sole job is to sell as much as possible. They seem unable to even adjust glasses property. I loath returning except for Dr Sanders Please attempt to correct this.

Outstanding Service I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Jones, especially Shay who helped my son get his first pair of glasses and helped navigate around his college schedule. They went above and beyond to ensure my son felt comfortable and helped a mom who is far away in PA!
