I've been going to Marion Eye Care Center for many years and when Fairfield open up their branch I went there because they were closest to me and I have been very satisfied with Doctor Schneider and the cost of glasses was wonderful I was able to get a new pair of glasses without using my insurance because the sale they had going on was cheaper than if I used my insurance. I was very impressed that they did not just go ahead and use my insurance and charge me more but made me aware that if I didn't use my insurance I could get a better deal and save me money. I will definitely be a returning customer for as long as I live around here.

Came in early! Got in quick and the eye doctor was very efficient and made the experience better with casual conversation! The woman that assisted me with my glasses helped find me find a pair. While we did the paper work we conversed and she was very kind!

I would not recommend taking a child here who has never been before. The dr was not very patient or easy on a scared kid who had no idea what was going on. They didn't explain anything or let me help explain what was going on. Dr also acted like I was terrible for not bringing my child to an optometrist before 5. The front desk lady was super nice though so that's a plus

Went in because contact prescription wasn't doing it for me anymore. Had an eye exam for contacts and then left awaiting the arrival of the new contacts the Dr. prescribed. I then get a call, "why did you leave"? After explaining I was told I needed to come in and pay a $30 co-pay and a "fitting fee" for the contacts. I asked if both of my eye insurances had been presented the bill (one is primary and the second supplemental usually picks up the co-pay). I was told they don't submit to two separate insurers....what? I then said I didn't have contacts "fitted" and would never need them fitted since I wear them everyday for the past 20 years. I was told it's a fee that is always charged....what? Kinda like going to get my oil changed and being charged for a tire rotation....because it's just a fee they always charge. No thanks.

My experience with this branch has been a bit of a disappointment , which I feel is deeply saddening to have to say. I've always had descent results and a somewhat positive outcome overall. The selection was very limited, assking questions seemed to bring a rise in defensive feedback. Conversation and smiling weren't on the menu that day. Not the brightest or friendliest of atmosphere. Hopefully next time will be better, I can't help but to think about how to change my own attitude to help bring about a more lightened sort of mood or overview.

I went to multiple eye exams because I couldn't see out of the prescription they gave me but I don't think the Dr. was taking me seriously. Then I finally got tired of messing with it and decided to wear my glasses anyway and hope the headaches went away. A week or so ago my frames broke, so they ordered me a replacement. When I went in yesterday to have my lenses put in my new frames, she had issues getting my old ones out and ended up shattering the left lense. This is a huge deal for me because I don't have a backup pair. Now I am wearing an old pair I found around the house with the wrong prescription. With all of the problems I have had with this location I will never be back and would not recommend them to anyone. The girl that usually does the fittings (Tiffany) was not there yesterday, and she is always great. I have nothing bad to say about her.

The overall service of Marion Eye Center in Fairfield IL is good. They're always thorough and do a good job, and i always feel very well taken care of. Only struggle I've had is finding frames that fit my big head (lol). as for during this time of Covid-19, the procedures they have in place to uphold social distancing and mask rules are pretty solid. Signs all over the place in easy to see locations that you have no way to not see when you enter the building, that say "You must wear a mask before entering" and all that. They take your temperature, ask you all the usual questions. Etc. However, i will say the last time i was there a UPS man came in to drop off a box, and he wasn't wearing a mask. He came in, stood RIGHT next to me while i was checking out after my appointment, ignored social distancing, reached passed me to hand the box to the lady behind the desk and spoke to her quickly before turning and leaving. Granted, that's not Marion's fault specifically, and he was only in there long enough to put the box down and say a few things, and then leave. BUT, he absolutely should have been told off for entering the establishment without a mask on, ESPECIALLY because with his job he is no doubt encountering a large number of individuals as he delivers packages from location to location. like i get it, they're busy with their jobs. But it takes 2 seconds to look up as someone enters, see they're not wearing a mask, and then say "You need to put a mask on to be in here." If the UPS man argues then it take a bit longer, however it is a thing that MUST be done because we are in the middle of a Pandemic. A literal medical emergency. People are dying from this thing.
