Olympia Fields Eyecare - Dr. Sharon Burke

Awful place that should be charged with fraud! Billed my mother for an exam but one was not performed. No new eye glass script was given to her (she's worn glasses her whole life), when I called I was told they didn't know why that happened. They said she could come back in to get her script, and then let her sit for over 3 hours before she left without any help. My mother is older and gets confused, I've worked as an optician before and would never let a patient leave like that. Just horrible.

This was the absolute worst medical visit I have ever had. When I walked in, the receptionist bold face lied about the appointment time we agreed on. I along with other patients waited 3 hours to see the doctor. From what I overheard from other patients, it's always extremely slow. In addition, other staff members were very cranky and unprofessional. On the back end, getting them to produce the paper for my primary care physician was like pulling teeth-I had to call multiple times for them to do so. I'm warning you, do not waste your time here.

My parents and I have been patients of Dr. Burke's for over 30 years. Recently, we switched to different eye doctors. You wait, just like the other reviews stated, over 3 hours or more to see her. She has appointments early in the morning, but she will not arrive until at least 10:00 for her first patient. I had enough the last time I saw her when the employees were talking bad about another employee in front of me. I called to get my records for my new doctor and the receptionist was extremely rude on the phone and I am so glad I will not be going back there.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had with a "doctor". Yes, you will wait a very very loooooong time for your appointment. Probably an hour or more. She shows up late every single day so every single appointment will be late. My last appointment I waited 2 hours. If she was AMAZING, maybe this would be forgivable. But she's not. She made a major error in my diagnosis & now I'm paying the price. Being backed up and then rushing through appointments is no way to run a practice. There are WAY better eye doctors out there. Do yourself a favor & find one.

Last Thursday I waited 2 1/2 hours just to see Dr. Burke. I left. I cannot wait that long. I rescheduled the appointment for today. I waited 1 hours and 36 min. I went to the desk at the 1 1/2 hour mark. She said the Dr. will see you next. I have an infant at home. I cannot be gone from home too long. But she came in like six min later. I was on the phone with the babysitter. I was getting ready to leave when she walked in. I got off the phone AS SOON AS SHE WALKED IN. I said the Dr. Is here. I'll b home shortly. She was in there for like two min and didnt say anything. So I said, Hello. She goes, Oh. Hello. She never turned around to look at me. Her assistant walks in without knocking and says, I smell coconut. These people have no manners. I was always taught when u walk in a room you are always suppose to speak. I won't recommended this place.

You wait and wait and wait.The doctor walks in at 11;00AM. You are still waiting. It is very unprofessional. Patients should not wait for appointments for three to four hours. They should hire more medical help to make it easier for the patients. The patients or insurance companies pay enough to make this possible. Patient care is FIRST!!

The wait be longer than you like but she is very thorough with exams! she may not get to lunch on time so she does not get back at a scheduled time.I appreciate her thoroughness and don't mind waiting and Dr does not rush through the exam.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burke for many years. She is a thorough, careful physician who is a trusted part of my medical care team. I am pleased to see that there are glasses frames of all price ranges and hope to buy a pair of new glasses soon.
