America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I scheduled an appointment for my son at America's Best after calling ahead to confirm two things: that my son, who is four years old, was old enough to be seen and that they could evaluate for color blindness. I was explicitly told over the phone that this would not be a problem, so I proceeded to schedule the appointment. When we arrived the following day, staff appeared confused about his age and informed me that they typically only see children ages five and older. We were then asked to wait for both the clerk and the doctor to arrive. The clerk arrived approximately five minutes after the scheduled appointment time and indicated she would need to ask the doctor whether my son could be seen. The doctor arrived about 15 minutes late and ultimately told me that she only performs school-age vision screenings and that I should instead take my son to an ophthalmologist. This appointment was a complete waste of time and resulted in my son being late to school. I took the extra step of calling ahead specifically to avoid this situation and was given incorrect information. Unfortunately, no one in the office acknowledged the inconvenience or took responsibility for the misinformation provided.

Great experience! DR Helen was so helpful explaining my retina photos / eye health regarding contact wear that in my years of wearing no DR has ever mentioned! Emily was fantastic at checkout! Super sweet and helpful explaining what insurance covered / did not!

We walked into the store to get glasses for my son. We've been coming to this location every year for the past 6-7 years to get his glasses, but this visit was very disappointing. When we arrived--about 40 minutes before closing--we weren't greeted at all. One of the employees looked at her watch as if we were an inconvenience. We went straight to look at frames, and instead of approaching us to offer help, the same associate called out from behind the counter asking if we had insurance. She never came over to assist or engage with us. After that experience, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Such a poor customer experience, especially after years of being loyal customers.

The staff at this location are pleasant and professional- the optometrist Tonya Tira absolutely was not. To tell a patient to "hurry up" because she has other patients waiting was the most unprofessional conduct . Her mannerisms, lack of professional behavior and rushed exam told me all I needed to know. I should have gotten out of the exam chair when she said "hurry up..." but didn't want to be that kind of person. I thought so little of her, I decided I didn't want a Rx from her. I wanted to pay for the time I was there, but the manager just said no charge. Having my daughter in the exam room to witness it all was helpful

I went to America's Best to get an eye exam and purchase some new glasses. From the moment I walked in, the staff here were super helpful and attentive. The whole exam process was easy and quick. Both the tech who started my exam and the doctor were willing to answer all my questions. When I started looking at frames I literally could not find anything I liked on myself. The girls started helping me out and giving me feedback. I'm super indecisive so this is not easy for me. I seriously spent two hours trying on probably every frame in the store. Each of the girls were so kind, attentive, helpful and willing to help me find pairs that I loved. I don't think I've had a customer service experience this kind and fun maybe ever. They did not rush me, they were looking through everything they had to help me find what I wanted, and they truly were so attentive through the whole two hour journey. It was honestly like shopping with my besties. Asia, Danielle, Rachel and Beth- you truly made my whole day and made this endeavor so much easier and less stressful. I appreciate each of you for taking the time and truly caring about my experience!

Michael & Jen were so polite and efficient they were able to adjust my frames back in place so quickly and best part was it didn't cost me a dime !! Thank you

This location needs better training in customer service, communication and everything in between. I never leave reviews but after carefully speaking with my family they suggested that I did a review to help any future customers avoid this location at Randall Square. I ordered safety glasses for my job on December 4th, 2024 and was told they would be ready in 2 weeks. I was overcharged and they could never find my glasses or name in there system the multiple times I called. I was always placed on hold and they took forever to find an answer. Well fast forward to February 27th and I finally received my original safety glasses. That was almost 3 months for safety glasses. The new ones I ordered were not ready until the end of January. They gave me a new thicker eye prescription that were heavy, left an indent on my nose and they made me dizzy. I asked for my original lens and frames back and reimbursement. That took over a month to get corrected. I had to finally get a hold of Management and she gave me all the excuses in the book. They need better training and I despise leaving these type of reviews. I was so frustrated with this experience that I ended up going to my original Optometrist and paying out of pocket for new Safety Glasses. Never again will I return here even if they were free glasses.

Maribel was super kind and helpful today! I came in a bit frazzled needing contacts same day to hold me over until my next order was in, and she quickly helped me and I was able to walk out with a box at a good price too! She was also lovely to talk to, very knowledgeable and personable, great experience!
