I have been experiencing worsening double vision and night blindness for aboutb15 years. At 71 it got very difficult to drive at night. Ive been through the retail vision care system with no real solutions. Ive also gone to an eye specialist. The exam and interaction with Dr Beckerman was night and day compared to my other interactions. He proposed an interesting solution to the problem which involved using a corrective lens in my left dominant eye for distance and a corrective lens for reading in my right eye fir reading. He explained that my condition was not corrective with traditional lens arrangements because my eyes are slightly crossed. The concept is that after a few days of wearing these unconventional glasses my brain will figure out which eye to use for what. I had heard ofbthis approach somewhere in my past, but he is the first eye care professional who has suggested trying it. The jury is still out as the new glasses are on order, but the thoroughness of the eye evaluation coupled with Dr Beckermans long career in sports vision medicine leaves me optomistic..
