Illinois Retina Associates: Jack A. Cohen, MD

We had the most amazing experience under Dr. Cohen's care. My father has been under the care of Illinois Retina Associates for Macular Degeneration for the past several years. He contracted an eye infection on Christmas Eve, which, as you might expect, is not the easiest time to see a doctor on short notice. Dr. Cohen was on-call and managed to slot us in right away that morning. The eye infection was serious enough that it required immediate treatment and daily follow-up for the next several days. Here's where Dr. Cohen went above and beyond all expectations in attending to my father's care. Although Dr. Cohen's primary office is in Skokie, he came to the Libertyville office (which is closer to where my father lives) early Christmas morning, opened up the office building (which was entirely closed down for the Christmas holiday), and administered treatment for my father. Who has ever heard of such a thing? Dr. Cohen continued to see my father daily, in person, even calling me every night to check in on my father's progress until he was confident my father's eye situation had improved. Even after Dr. Cohen left to go out of town for scheduled vacation time, he called in daily to check on my father. One other item of note: Dr. Cohen has an extremely personable disposition. He made my father feel genuinely cared for, spoke to him in terms my father could understand, and put my mind at ease that my father was receiving the best care possible. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Cohen's responsiveness, authentic care, and expert treatment of my father. Thank you Dr. Cohen!

Dr. Cohen was very, very busy. My entire time with him was 1 to 2 minutes. I hope we didn't miss anything. He seemed confident that everything was okay. Four people were checking-in his patients, and he was the only doctor.

Dr Cohen is a GREAT doctor. Friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The next generation of doctors need to be like him. The front desk is welcoming and efficient. I never have to wait more that 3-5 minutes when I arrive. After taken in the back, they do not leave you sitting in a room alone forever either - top notch scheduling.

Always consistent, Dr. Cohen is an exceptional Retinologist who genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain the entire exam and answer alll your questions and concerns. I feel fortunate to be in his care. jcz

Dr Cohen is awesome. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and patiently answering questions I have during my visit. I feel I can trust him for his expertise. The staffs at the facility are very friendly and warm.
