Community Eye Care of Indiana: North

My daughter had an appointment with Dr Latona this week. She left the office in tears. He was the rudest and most unprofessional Dr I've ever heard of. She is pregnant and has issues with blurry vision in one eye. He did all the tests but did not explain anything to her. She asked him if it would go away on it's own and he said "yes it could but you'd be famous" He also said "well you still have your left eye, and you're not near as bad as the lady in the next room". She got upset and starting crying, thinking she might become blind in that eye and he said "oh don't get upset, that will just make it worse". He said several other very rude and unprofessional comments to her before she left. My daughter is a Purdue graduate, wife and mother to an 3 yr old. and working a great job in Indy. She's not one to complain so for her to leave in tears, it was a terrible experience for her. Needless to say, she will never go back to him . If he was having a bad day (no excuse) then he needed to be an adult and suck it up and never treat any patient that way. I'm still horrified that any Dr would act in such an unprofessional manner. She called the office back today and asked to speak to another dr in the office to explain what her tests results were. The lady on the phone told her what she needed to know so thank goodness for that.

My ONLY complaint is my appointments are ALWAYS late. They are always running behind and I actually get in around an hour late. That being said, the staff is super nice and the doctor is fantastic. The doctor is never rushed, always very kind and has a great bedside manner. His very thorough and communication is fantastic. So all in all I seem to be willing to put up with the weight because I'm So Satisfied with the physician.

Tried calling to schedule an appointment several times this week. Was put on hold for more than 40 mins before being hung up on. Called back and was hung up on again. This went on four more times before I lost patience and decided this clinic is not worth it. If they can't get their staff organized, not sure how they'll take care of patients here. Nothing says "disorganized" mess more than this.

Where did they go ? We had an appointment 3 weeks ago and my husband went in today to get his glasses fixed - they moved to the other side of town . Note in the door ! No letter no notification no warning . What kind of business is that ? Not happy

I love the doctors, but I won't return because of office staff. I was interrupted multiple times mid sentence. When I asked them to listen to what I was saying, they interrupted again. I was told they were busy with someone at their desk and didn't need to hear me because the response would be the same, which should never ever happen. I was shocked. It's flat out rude to interrupt like that and not show the patient enough respect to listen. It's been a rough past few years and we all need a little grace and understanding. The supervisor was very kind, but I took my money elsewhere. Sad thing is I wanted an appointment for my husband too so they lost a returning and a new patient because of the way I was treated. It's easy to be kind to people, treat them how you want to be treated.

I just LOVE these people! They are so knowledgeable, and even better, they are SO KIND and patient. Always explain everything they are doing, but never talk down to us. Dr. LaTona is always so kind and helpful--and encouraging!! And the technician that helped me today was probably the best I have ever had! She was soft-spoken and kind and very helpful. I do recommend these people to everyone.

I've gone to this office for years. The doctors are good, but admin staff have been an issue for years (generally just kind of rude). Recently it seemed like they had made improvements in that area, but it also became very difficult to get an appointment. The final straw for me is that the appointment I scheduled three months ago has been abruptly cancelled due to my doctor leaving the practice, and now they can't give me a new appointment for another month and a half. The scheduling staff was pretty unsympathetic and had no alternatives to offer me, saying that the next earliest appointment would be six months after that. I will be looking for a new practice; my preferred doctor isn't there any more, and it sounds like they have too many clients to handle anyway.

The front desk staff is very rude and does not listen to you before cutting you off. Love the doctors. But it's a hassle to schedule appointments or order contacts because of the front desk staff. Had to leave multiple messages with no call backs. They also recently moved offices and everything is a big mess. Ordered contacts about 3 weeks back. I was told I will get a call in 1 week to pick them up. It's been 3 weeks now, no call from them and multiple voicemails unanswered Talked to someone today and I was told they never ordered the contacts since they r in the process of moving and could not do it. Could have atleast let me know so that I could order them someplace else. Going to find a new doctor. They r losing patients due to rude front desk staff.
