My partner and I would have been new - and repeat - customers at Shimp Optical if it weren't for the fact that their billing and payment process is arbitrary, inflexible and dated.
We have full vision coverage under our insurance plan. The day of my appointment I brought my insurance card and ID because that's what most places require. And despite having the insurance card plus the routing number and account number to our health savings account (basically everything BUT the health savings card itself) with me, it was apparently all but impossible for Shimp to simply bill us our co-pay. The absence of a modern billing system makes it difficult and inconvenient to do business here therefore I would not recommend Shimp Optical to friends or family
