Excellent experience. Truly enjoyed my visit. The exam was thorough. Dr Moody explains things very well. The purchasing of glasses was easy. Many choices for frames. Appreciated the recommendations. Thrilled to find a family owned eye doctor downtown Indy!
I went to the one in greenwood, which is now closed, BUT I had to share. First of all, my tech assessed my eyes and then laughs about how bad my eyes are in the hallway, which I can plainly hear. Sorry I have bad eye sight... that's why I'm at the eye doctor. Then, they order my contacts for me and they never arrive. When I asked about reordering them, Dr. Moody had the audacity to complain about how expensive the contacts are since they'd be footing the bill for the second round. Yeah, I'm fully aware of how expensive they are, I had to pay for the first round that were lost.
Do not recommend.

Dr. Moody --
Your reply reinforces my original review and introduces a more serious issue.
First and most importantly: your public response contains an impermissible disclosure of protected health information (PHI). By posting dates of service, procedures performed, insurance provider (EyeMed), payment amounts, reimbursement details, prescription status, and quoting private email correspondence, you disclosed identifiable patient information in a public forum without authorization. Even when a patient discusses their own experience, providers are not permitted to confirm, expand upon, or publish patient-specific clinical or billing details publicly.
You should immediately delete your response, as it exposes sensitive patient information that should never have been made public.
Second: your reply is contradictory and fails to address the core concerns. Your own pasted emails document:
- charging patients up front for services later covered by insurance, then requiring them to pursue refunds
- reliance on internal "policy" instead of transparent reconciliation
- refusal to provide an electronic copy of a one-page prescription, insisting on hard copy only and a $30 fee
- dismissive communication ("this will be my last email on this topic")
This is exactly the business practice I warned others about: unnecessary friction, poor transparency, and disregard for patient rights.
Third: responding to a review by publishing detailed patient billing and clinical information reflects a serious misunderstanding of professional and legal boundaries and only escalates the issue further.
At this point, no further public response is appropriate. Additional replies will only compound the problem.
My original review stands. I support small businesses, but I cannot support practices that lack transparency, professionalism, and respect for patient rights.
Moody Eyes has a very comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Moody is thorough in his exam and does not make you feel rushed. They have a very large inventory of frames in trendy styles. Was very happy when I left there

Dr Moody always does a thorough eye exam and answers my questions in an easy to understand way. The biggest thing is I've never had a new pair of contacts or glasses not work for me. I highly recommend Dr Moody for your eye care needs.
