Dr. Tam is amazingly thorough, professional, and accommodating. In addition to getting insurance covered frames from her shop, I asked for my prescription so I could order cheaper glasses online. She was not offended and quickly printed off my prescription. Also I was pregnant during a routine eye exam one time. She had me come back postpartum, free of charge, to recheck my vision as pregnancy can affect vision and she wanted to ensure I had an accurate prescription. This speaks volumes to her thoroughness and knowledge of her profession.

My entire experience with Dr. Tam was AMAZING. From the moment I walked up to the door and Dr. Tam greeted me, I felt like I met a long lost friend/family member. She is warm, kind, gentle, thorough and sincerely cared about my eye health and what works best for me. She taught me things about my eyes and cautions I should be wary of that NO ONE ever explained to me before and I've been visually impaired for a very long time. I highly recommend Dr. Tam, and if I could, I would have given more than five stars. I feel like a visually healthier and well-informed person because of her.

Dr. Tam is thorough, thoughtful and professional! Her shop in South Broad Ripple is so nice and inviting. She can help with eye exams, frames and lenses. I went to her with a problem I had with a lens prescription I was given by a different doctor/retailer, and Dr. Tam was knowledgeable, caring and patient as she helped me to get the correct prescription.

Dr. Tam has been my optometrist for many years. She has always been available to help with whatever questions I have. He diagnostic skills are amazing. She has been able to successfully identify and treat several issues very quickly.

Joanna Tam bends over backwards to serve her patients well. She has a great bedside (or chairside?) manner. Her practice has a very homey feel and she focuses a lot of attention on you. If you can't complete the exam for any reason (for instance, if you can't have your eyes dialated that day, or if you're rushed for time during your lunch hour), she will allow you to come back to finish the exam at a later date, without charging you a second time. There were issues with our insurance company reimbursing the glasses we wanted to purchase, and while the issue did not get resolved in the end, she really bent over backwards to try to get our glasses for us. In the end, she was really helpful to the other eyeglass retailer that we ended up using, providing both our prescription and the pupillary distance to them very willingly. Other optometrists that we've used have put up a fight in providing pupillary distance measurements in order to keep patients from getting glasses from other businesses-- Joanna Tam doesn't do this. She is a professional, courteous optometrist and I will definitely go back to her for my vision exam every year!

Dr. Tam is very attentive and thorough in her examination. She is so kind and really takes the time to make sure you are taken care of! Great experience!

Very inviting and explains everything, taking the extra steps to make sure you understand why she is making certain recommendations. She listened to my feedback and made sure to take my preferences and needs into account, and didnt just ignore my input (which happens places in my experience)! Great place!

Ocularis has the coolest optical in town! Dr. Tam is a great optometrist.
