Chris, the tech was wonderful--great guy. Dr.Birtwhistle was very informative. He explained all that he was doing, explained my eye pictures, and made sure I had a full understanding. On how to proceed after the appointment. He took time with me and answered any questions I had that day. Top notch!
Dr. Shah McDonough and her staff are incredible. I feel so confident in my eye health care provider. The assistant and front staff went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and had all my questions answers. They are so welcoming, kind and helpful! I love going to the eye doctor!
My exam was probably the most thorough I have had in years. The Dr was very knowledgeable and helpful. The technician was very kind and helpful. The technician handling the choosing glass frames was helpful and patient.
The only bad experience was checking in. The lady was very unfriendly and did not explain that I was to fill out a required form not just sign it. I had to complete it when looking at frames.
I will return for future exams.
All staff members were polite, friendly and helpful. Dr Birtwhistle was great at explaining my condition and facilitating a quick followup
Professional and friendly staff. Dr. Birtwhistle is professional, knowledgeable, thorough and takes time with his patients.
Buyer Beware. Never buy glasses from this place. I intended to buy glasses online, but the doctor and optician tried talking me out of it. I should have listened to my gut. I picked some frames and asked if there would be a significant difference between the highest tier lenses and something "middle of the road" and was told by the optician Carolyn that I wouldn't notice a significant difference, and it would be fine. After paying a large premium, I picked up my "glasses" to find that Carolyn didn't want me to try the glasses on without my contacts. She said just make sure they "felt right on". Well, of course, I couldn't see much until after I left and realized not only did the ear pieces not sit against my head, the lenses made the frames look way too big. I have never seen lenses so thick. I called and asked what my options were, and she acted so annoyed and kept saying she told me the lenses would be too big. I said "No, you said I wouldn't notice a difference." She later left me a voicemail and said the only cost to me for frames would be $70. I called to clarify, and she said that no-it would be a $70 restocking fee, the cost of new frames and the difference in cost for new lenses. She also said she needed me to wear the coke bottle glasses for 2 weeks to make sure the prescription was actually correct. Excuse me? So not only we're the lenses & frames incorrect, now my prescription might be incorrect, too? I mentioned that online retailers have a 30-day money back 100% satisfaction guarantee. Carolyn said they don't bc glasses are a custom product. Progressive will not make your glasses right, and they could give a damn about losing customers. I work in insurance and am asked frequently for referrals to optometrists. I'm taking Progressive off my list and everyone else's. I'm still wearing my glasses purchased online 6 years ago and will never purchase anything from Progressive again.

I come here for Dr. Turner, he is my favorite eye doctor that I've ever had, I followed him here from his previous practice. I like that this practice offers the retinal scans, I like to have the photographs in my chart to monitor my eye health. This is not your cheapest option for eye care, but I find them comparable to other offices in town and they accept many insurances.
I have ordered glasses here a couple of times, I think they have a good selection of stylish frame options, and they are good at deluxe lens options (eyezen, blue filters, thin high index, all the bells and whistles) Dr. Turner in particular knows his glasses and he has given me good advice on getting ones I actually like to wear! One time they did mess up my prescription (transposed two numbers) which was a hassle but they did correct it.
The staff was very friendly while making an appointment and when checking in and out. I felt my exam was very thorough and Dr. Shah did a wonderful job with taking her time to explain everything she did during the exam, her findings, and her recommendations. She made sure I understood everything and made sure to ask if I had any questions. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to Progressive Eyecare.
