I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Klaas and the exceptional care provided by her entire staff. From the moment when we called the office in an emergency situation, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, immediately put me at ease. Dr. Klaas is not only highly knowledgeable but also compassionate, taking the time to listen to all our concerns and answer every question thoughtfully. Her expertise and dedication are truly evident in the quality of care provided. The staff members are equally remarkable, always friendly, efficient, and attentive to details. They go above and beyond to ensure every patient is given the amount of time needed for their appointment and never feel rushed. While she is very kind she doesn't seem to have it together to treat our 90yr old mother properly. We wait for more than an hour to get the drops to numb her eye and spend almost 2 hours there for a 915am appointment. Her staff doesn't seem to know what's going on which could be due to a constant high turnover. Makes you wonder why there are so many different staff rotating through this office. Mom has macular degeneration and so she goes for eye injections monthly which she is now able to see much better, so we are thankful for that. Last time we waited an hour only to have her tell us she can't do the injections due to an eye infection. Had to reschedule for 2 weeks later. Sister takes her for the appointment and her staff puts on a pair of gloves, then leaves the room, with gloves on, returns, with same gloves on, and proceeds to put the drops in Mom's eyes AND DIDN'T CHANGE HER GLOVES!! What kind of nursing practice is THAT?! They leave knowing that the Dr is calling in another eye order for the drops again since she still has the infection. She went ahead and did the injection BUT THEN NEVER CALLED IN THE ORDER to the facility Mom lives in. My sister had to call a few times today and was so frustrated since they STILL hadn't called the order in from a week ago. The facility can't do the drops until they get an order from the Dr. They finally sent it today around 3:30pm a week later! She did the injection with an eye infection then didn't call in the order. Ridiculous. UPDATE 12/17/24 She has now dropped our mother due to this review! I left a message for her to talk about this but almost a week later she hasn't returned the call. She said she doesn't trust US to treat mom anymore when what I wrote is a true review of her office!! The truth hurts. Do better Dr. Carissa Klaas and how disappointing to not take the truth to heart and do BETTER! 4/27/25 UPDATE We have taken mom to Midwest Eye and what a difference!! We were told the initial appointment would be almost 3 hours but it was 1.5hrs, less than a monthly appointment here!! She has been twice now and the 2nd time was an hour from signing in to leaving. So once again this office is NOT the office you want to be seen in!! Midwest Eye is the place to be!!

Dr. Klass is an amazing colleague and I refer patients that are moving/summer birding to the Indianapolis area to her. She is a great doctor and very accommodating . Thank you Dr. Klass for taking care of my patients.
