As always, the staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The exam was thorough, and the doctor explained every detail about the findings. I've been a patient of American Eyecare since its opening here and have every intention of remaining with them for a long time!

Although I have gone to American Eyecare for years and been happy with the care, today my visit was shocking. None of the staff wore a mask, not even the doctor who was a few inches from my face during the exam. I asked respectfully if the staff caring for me would kindly mask and I was told by the office manager, "We are not required to wear a mask and it's hard to do the job with one on. Do you still want us to treat you?" The American Optometry Association strongly recommends masks and face shields for all staff providing direct patient care. The office is in a community with a high transmission rate of Covid 19. Their actions are reckless and the disregard for my request to follow their own professions guidelines makes this office an unsafe and unpleasant place to receive healthcare.

All was fine.... A regular visit to eye doctor for prescription. I did not however appreciate one of them telling me that glass lenses aren't safe when I told them I wanted glass. I don't think it is their business to pass that kind of misleading information unless asked directly. It only serves to misinform, and makes it harder for those of us not impressed with plastics and their ilk, to find proper lenses. Glass is a far superior medium for accurate vision. Period. That said, they were helpful when I returned to get some measurements with my frames to send to a lab that did do glass.

I had an amazing experience at American Eyecare!! Janice Filson was incredibly knowledgeable & helpful. She helped me find the perfect set of regular glasses & a great pair of sunglasses. I loved how my two pair of glasses turned out, and Janice was very patient when it came to fitting them! I will be switching my complete care to the Fairfield location!

Very pleasant experience, very good Dr's and assistants. Only problem was partly my own fault in picking glasses out when my eyes were dilated, and nobody else with me. hmm not a smart move, got some Fantastic Guess glasses the the insurance didn't pick up very much. Lesson? Bring a friend too lol
