Hedquist Eye Care

Visiting fam for the holidays, glasses broke in ski trip, can't see, am blind. Try to fix and order myself glasses. Internet says: No. I recall 10+ years ago getting contacts here and they were super helpful and knowledgable. Chris? Hedquist the main guy is a master at his craft. Regardless, I walk in expecting nothing or to drop 300+ on new frames. They fixed it for free, no charge using frankenstein techniques. Do they look pretty from the original Ray Bans frames? Absolutely not, but am I still blind? No sir!! 10/10 would recommend.

Best optometrist I've ever been to. Thorough professional and funny too.

Added update: after this review was posted Misty began calling me SEVERAL times. Her voicemail stated she had received bad news before speaking with me today and took it out on me. Excuse me? So, you thought it was best to be downright awful to me because you were upset? And in result turn my day into a hard day as well? She called me 3 times in a row, this has taken up so much time from my day and its unbelievable at this point. I stood in that office this morning just looking at her almost speechless waiting for an apology, but she continued to be awful towards me. Ok great, you owned up to your actions. Thats appreciated and I get it, she had bad news and that's never fun. But to be calling me over and over, and to look at me while I stood in front of you at the office visibly upset that I once again could not be seen and show no compassion and then expect some sort of understanding and compassion from me?? She had me in TEARS as I left the office. This is just not the way to handle this. The attempts to rectify things are appreciated but this was all handled so terribly. Original post: Made an appointment for today at 11am, I had scheduled this appointment back on 12/20/24 as you can see from the attached photo of my call log. I remember the call vividly as I was asked if I needed an exam for both contacts and glasses in which I stated just glasses. I had also asked if my insurance was on file and if the benefits would apply towards glasses for this appointment. I went today as was told I was not on the schedule. I asked to talk to the office manager as this is the second time that I have gone for an appointment only to leave without being seen. The office manager (Misty) Dr. Hedquists wife told me how it was impossible for me to have an appointment, she was defensive, and argumentative with me when I explained that I had called weeks ago to schedule this. She somehow felt she was owed the right to get upset with me when I explained that I could not sit there and wait to be squeezed in, this is why I scheduled an appointment so I could be seen at the time I could make work. I did not have time to be "squeezed in". She also felt the need to throw in my face that I had an appointment in Oct 2024 that was cancelled. That appointment was cancelled because I sat in the lobby for 45min past my appointment time and needed to leave to get my daughter from daycare. I explained this to Misty, she then continued arguing with me. I was amazed. Not the smallest amount of concern came from her. Dr.Hedquist has always been great which is why I have been a patient for many years, the staff there has always been pleasant and helpful, the office is typically such an upbeat and pleasant place to visit. This was my first encounter with Misty, her overall lack of compassion and understanding was mind boggling. I will mention Dr. Hedquist called me later on and apologized for what happened and did seem genuinely concerned about the situation, which is the complete opposite of what I experienced when dealing with Misty at the office. To blame the patient, argue, and show no concern for your patient is not someone who is meant to be dealing with patients.

Dr. Headquist and his team are the best! I highly recommend them if you need eye care for you or your family. They are so great with me and my kids. My son recently received contacts for the first time and they were so patient with him and spent a lot of time teaching him how to take them in and out. I recently had an issue and they got me right in to be seen and taken care of. I am so thankful for the wonderful care we receive every time we go in!

Dr. Headquist is the most amazing eye Dr. I have ever been to! He explained everything so thoroughly that I walked out knowing more about my eyes and what was best for them than I have in my entire life! The office ladies are PHENOMENAL!! They were engaging and funny! By far the best experience I have ever had at an eye Dr.! Keep up the great work! I have been telling everyone to go to you for their eye needs.

I showed up last minute After getting something in my eye. This is the first time I've ever been to this place. Every single person working there, including the doctor himself are all some of the most professional, caring, considerate, and dedicated people I have ever met. I am blown away by how kind they were throughout the entire process. Dr. Hedquist even took time to explain and pulled up images to show me what my eye looked like with no regard to closing time. I am finding it difficult to express the overall experience because I've never had an experience at a doctors office that was that great. Or anywhere for that matter. I have been to many many eye doctors over the years up until five years ago when I got Lasik and my experience here with these people today makes me feel sad that I don't have a reason to go in there more often. I should know that I paid out-of-pocket because I do not have insurance. I can tell you right now they do not charge enough for their level of quality service so if you're one of those people that goes to Eyemart or Walmart or whatever I hope you read this and reconsider where you're spending your money. Thank you, Dr. Hedquist and thank you to your entire staff 1000 times over you are all amazing!

Dr. Hedquist always gives great advice and doesn't make you feel bad about less than perfect contact-care-habits. The staff are always very friendly, funny, and helpful. I always have good things to say when telling others about my eye doctor and I'm glad he has opened his own practice. I greatly enjoy the convenience of the downtown location as well.

What a great outcome to a scary situation. My daughter was seeing flashes of light out of the corner of her eye. We got in to see Hedquist within a few hours after my phone call. He was patient, knew his stuff and put my daughter at ease. The staff were friendly as well! I would definitely recommend them!
