Family Eye Health Center

I was a regular here for several years. I started going to another place because of insurance reasons. I just called them to come back & make an appointment. When I dialed the number it rang 7 times before ANYONE answered. Upon someone picking up the phone I'm immediately put on hold. No biggie maybe they're busy. After a 4-5 min hold a different woman answers. I inform her that I used to be a patient there. I giver my birthdate, ins info & verify address & phone number upon giving her that info she sits silent on the other side of the line, so much so I ask her twice if she's still there. When she does answer me, she sounds perturbed. No biggie maybe their computer is freezing up. After all that time she responds that the SOONEST I can get in is 2 months away. I tell her that I'm already behind for my diabetic eye exam & that seems especially long of a wait. Her reply is "Do want the appointment or not?" to which I replied "I guess I'll take it & see if I can find something sooner in the meantime" Her reply, "Well if you're gonna look somewhere else I'm NOT TAKING your appointment. To which I replied "Your customer service is lacking." To which she said "Thanks." At that point I wouldn't go there if they were the only place open on earth & both my eyeballs were hanging out of their sockets. HORRIBLE ATTITUDES FROM STAFF!

i've been going here since i got my first pair of glasses at 4 years old (i'm 23 now!). staff is professional and always greet you with a smile on their face! i've never had a single bad experience with them. thank you all for helping me throughout all these years :)

I have been going to get my eyes checked since I was a baby and they all treat you like you are family!

By far the best eye exam I have ever gotten. The Staff especially Nancy was so sweet and kind and took such great care of me and my daughter. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. There prices are so good and with my insurance I barely paid for anything. My daughter is young and when she scratched her lens all I had to do was call and they made new lenses for her and when they came in they were already cut for her frame, they just popped them in and we were out in less than 5 minutes! The Doctor is so thorough, kind and patient. I absolutely love this place!

Turned me away because I am not family of someone who is already a patient established there, since when did basic healthcare become an insiders club?!

I have been seeing Dr. Pennell for over 10 years and they have always been great. They have been busy lately so it takes longer to get in but that just means they are good at what they do. I highly recommend them

Hello, this place is the BEST! This takes hometown care to a whole new level! My family loves the Doctor and the staff. They have gone above and beyond for us for years and I can not say enough good things about them. Their prices are fantastic and their warranty's are so amazing and you don't pay anymore for them. They really bend over backwards for you and it shows.

This is a terrible establishment. I have never written a bad review until now. I have been a patient for several years here along with two of my kids. I called to make an appointment for one of my children only to be told we weren't welcome back. I was so taken aback and confused. The empathy and lack of caring was discouraging. I was in tears by the end of the phone call. Extremely poor customer service by the entire staff. More specifically, Nancy. She was condescending and rude when she had no desire to hear a patient out but repeat herself over and over we weren't welcome back. I didn't realize ordering from 1-800-Contacts off an expired prescription was a no-no in the optometry world. How would I know, it's not my profession. I tried to explain my side. Life gets busy and was introduced to this alternative by a friend to try it. This office did not care to hear it. AND 1-800-Contacts approved the order. I had no realization the eye dr's office was unhappy with this. The office took the time to report 1-800-Contacts but didn't take the time to offer me a courtesy call when this happened 5 months prior to me calling to make this appointment for my child. I was blown away by this. After the phone call that I was not welcome back, I called the office back and asked if I could speak with the eye doctor, myself. They said "no, his mind is made up, you're not welcome back". It wasn't my hope to speak with him to change his mind, I wanted the opportunity to apologize to him and share my side. I have never been treated like this in my life. I offered an apology to the staff for my misunderstanding of the policy. I was not provided with the same kindness. What happened to customer service and offering patience and grace to a patient who may be a little uneducated in this profession? Disappointed is an understatement.
