Bossier Family Eye Care

This place is far from for children. Shes decent with adults but definitely take your babies else where. We wont be taking my children back to her. Shes very rude and definitely needs training on how to do a child's exam and how to speak to kids.

If I could give 0 i would. Take your children anywhere else. My daughter is 7 and has had issues seeing for a while now. Pediatrician evaluated said she definitely was having trouble and needed glasses. Brought her into this lady who is absolutely not meant to be a kids doctor and explain all of my kids issues that shes scared of doctors because of the past ect.. this woman forces her in this chair to get the eye drops in and traumatized her more and then because I truly feel she was tired of my child moving said she didnt need glasses and was fine which isnt the truth. We are going to be going to another eye doctor where her sister goes because this lady shouldn't be allowed to have Pediatric patients in my opinion and I will be following up with a report to the state as well. Save your babies mental peace and take them to an actual kids eye doctor and not this rude woman.

I took my 2 year old there due to eye issues. She wasn't cooperative when it came down to the eye drops because... well..she's two. I made sure to ask if they can see her at that age before making the decision. They said it would not be a problem. After they got the eye drops in everything was fine. Dr pastilong sent maybe 5 minutes examining her and said she needed glasses, ok cool. I thought it was kind of quick because of her age but I'm also not a doctor so I didn't question it. We get her 2 pairs of glasses. One that insurance covers and we had to pay out-of-pocket $130 which was fine because she needed them so we thought. They glasses came in and I put them on her and she (my 2 yr old) says she can't see and her head hurt. She's VERY well spoken for her age and comprehends a lot more than other kids her age so when she says she couldn't see and her head hurt I called "eye docs for kids" for a second opinion. That office dilated her eyes twice to make sure they could get a good look, she did so much better with them. This staff was SO much better with kids. Once we got back into a room the doctor came in and spent at least 20 minutes examining her (like I thought Dr Pastilong should've) and said she does not need glasses and had loose skin in her eyes and needed wipes/medication for it. He told me to call Pastilongs office and get a refund on the glasses since it was a misdiagnosis and the glasses would've messed her eyes up! I've called twice last week and gotten told Pastilong would call me back and called twice this morning and either gotten hung up on or no answer!

Love Dr. Pastilong! My sons previous eye doc took his glasses away (despite having strabismus, and having had surgery for it) and he was struggling to see. His prior eye doc wouldn't put him back in glasses. However, Dr. Pastilong noticed very quickly that he'd been struggling without them and put him back in glasses. I would highly recommend this doc to anyone. She is very knowledgeable and kind. I gave it 4 stars though bc we are not the slightest impressed with the eye glasses they sell, they're cheap quality and keep breaking. So cheap we'll be taking future prescriptions to Vision 4 Less, where we've bought glasses before that lasted much longer!

The wait times were low, the staff was amazing. The Dr was SO sweet. Love her so much!!! She cared and was very helpful. Thank you office for a great experience.

I have been to quite a few optometrists. I took my 4 yr old daughter in to see Dr. Pastilong for the first time yesterday. She and the whole staff were wonderful. Dr. Pastilong was thorough and completely informative of what her diagnosis is and what to expect. She's positive and it made me confident knowing she cares and is going to make sure my daughter gets the best treatment as soon as possible to correct her vision. She was also great and friendly with my 4 year old. It made my 4 year old feel comfortable and trusting. I would recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Pastilong and her staff are the greatest. The staff is friendly, professional, and efficient and works hard to make everyone's experience great. I wish I could use them continually but they are not one of my approved providers and I cannot afford to pay out of pocket. However, if they are an approved provider in your plan, by all means use Bossier Family Eye Care. You won't be disappointed.

I have limited vision in one eye since birth. I always used an ophthalmologist for annual check ups thinking it was the best way to take care of my one good eye. Last year I started my checkups at Bossier Family Eye Care. I was impressed with the quality and quantity of modern technology used. It was more comprehensive and more up to date than all previous doctors. I needed new glasses last year which I also purchased there. For the first time I added the process for screening blue light in the lenses. I can now look at any electronic screens for hours, if necessary, without the usual eye fatigue. I just completed this years annual visit and no new glasses were necessary which tells me what we did last year was successful. I continue to be impressed with the quality of exam and customer service. This year we found a change in the bad eye so I now feel both the good and bad eye are receiving excellent care. As someone who has spent an entire life time trying to take extra care of the eyesight I have, I recommend you visit Dr. Pastilong and staff.
