The Eye Clinic

It was ok up until my appointment has been rescheduled 3 times now. I might have to find another place to go. I need a new prescription and my appointment has been pushed back for months. And once when I tried to get a certain pair of glasses the lady said my insurance didn't cover it but we were gonna pay for it. The lady just kept saying that I couldn't get the glasses... I haven't had the best experience here.

PROS: The doctors at this office are Professional, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and understanding. CONS: The girl that helps you pick out your glasses and places the order for them is not helpful. She placed my trifocals to high. I went back to see the doctor because I had pain in my eye after my cataract surgery. The doctor noticed the trifocals where to high. Schedule me for an appointment with another doctor. To make sure I was fitted good with my vision, since I would have to have the trifocals redone. Second doctor also said trifocals are to high. Girl that does glasses said it was labs fault. And not happy that she had to redo them. Tried to work with her to get the measurements they needed to be. She kept telling me I was in her space and I couldn't get them redone again if they wasn't right this time. I was crying by the time I got to front desk. The lady at the front desk was very understanding. When second pair of glasses came in. No one could be seen in the office. Girl that takes Temperature at door hands me my glasses. It's like a ghost town in office. And now my trifocals are to low. After weeks of trying to adjust and office closed because of Hurricane. I go back. When I tell the girl that fits the glasses, I can't see out of them. She stares at me and says I told you they wouldn't be right. She leaves me sitting at desk grabs her phone and calls her supervisor Maura. She came back and said Maura said they would have to be fixed at a 18 or they could give me the amount I paid for glasses. I told her I couldn't see out of them at a 15. They were in my distance vision. How would I be able to see out of them at an 18? She doesn't answer just looks at me. If 2 doctors say they are to high at a 15. Why would you put them at a 18? Why would you go against doctors order? Maura is a supervisor. She never ask to hear my side of the story. Nothing was said to her in front of me. The matter was not handle professionally. I have no insurance now. I will have to pay out of pocket for new glasses, that should have been fixed right the first time. I have dealt with the ladies that work in Lake Charles office many times. They are friendly and work with you if you have a problem. I hate to leave a negative review. Because the doctors and other staff, do an outstanding job. They go out of there way to help you.

If you enjoy sitting in a waiting room, this is the place for you. I arrived 15 minutes early and there were 6 people in the waiting room in front of me. Every time I've been there it's 30-45 minute wait. I have 4 rods screwed into my spine and I can still get there early, they cannot even do you the courtesy of being on time. I left and will not be going back. My appointment was at 11:05, patients are scheduled every 5 minutes? How does that work? Exceedingly unprofessional business, don't waste your time like I did.

Very sketchy place. My husband has been going to them for years. Last year he ordered contacts and was told they would be shipped to our house within 3 weeks. 3 weeks passed and no contacts. He called and they said they would check into it and asked for a number to call back. After another week of no contacts and no word, he called again and she said they had been delivered to the office.... ok.... and you couldn't let us know? Flash forward to this year. He orders his next round of contacts. He was told it would be 3 weeks. Calls them after 3 weeks of no contacts and they say they'll check into it and again ask for a number and inform us that with this new contact it would probabky be 4 weeks.. Another week passes and no word or contacts. He calls again and is told the lady who handles it isn't there and to leave a number and she would have the woman call us the next day. 2 days pass and no call and no contacts. He calls again and they finally actually start look into it. Another week passes with no word, so he called again. They tell him it was delivered and read the address to him. The first was a PO Box in Oberlin (our address) and the second was a physical address in Pitkin. Now if we have a PO Box in Oberlin it would be safe to assume that we live in Oberlin... not Pitkin. So now they've reordered them and he will wait another 3 to 4 weeks to receive them. This place just seems so chaotic and unorganized. Not exactly what we're looking for in a trustworthy doctors office. So we won't be back.

I've always been so HAPPY with this clinic from the beginning to the end of my visit. NOT SO MUCH this time. Reception GREAT. Handicap parking and Entry and the Bathrooms are set up to accommodate too. Doctor was ok. Then EVERYTHING WENT SOUTH!!!! THE CHOOSING OF GLASSES was being handled by a snooty and not at all accommodating young blond who was so NOT HAPPY TO BE THERE at all and it was obvious! The young lady was rude and just griped and griped and although I told her I'd gotten a pair of glasses over 2 almost 3 yes ago and wanted the same ones she sternly said my byfocles would not work on them....hello....so I'm a liar!?...must be According to her cause I'd just shown and explained that I wanted the same glasses. WHATEVER was her final statement as she, I later discover, picked me out glasses that were JUST AWFUL!!!! I WAITED, NOT BY CHOICE, 3 YRS TO BE scared by the 'mean lady who picked out my glasses of horror! I lost them fishing at Vernon Lake....

This is the worst eye clinic i have ever been too. The lady at the reception desk was rude, i was charged a co-pay for the cheapest glasses they had and its been almost 3 weeks and i have not received them yet. I called and they said we do not know and will have to check. I am going back to the Walmart they were 100 times better.

Why book you for an appointment? They disregard others people's time. For example appointment at 8 not called back until 9:30 then don't even leave until 11:30 like really. Staff having personal phone calls at the desk with waiting room full of patients, staff blabbing people's address, phone numbers, and date of birth where everyone in DeRidder can hear it! ..... that's ridiculous! Why not just do walk ins only?

This clinic is AWFUL. They wanted to charge me $30 damn dollars for a SAMPLE pair. They didn't used to charge me! I just needed ONE sample pair to get me by until income tax!! It's BULL. I've ordered contacts from them TWICE and was about to order AGAIN. But after that, I'm taking my business elsewhere!!! SPREAD THE WORD THIS PLACE SUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN.
