Family Eye Care

Loved Dr. Scogin. He was very kind to my 9 year old daughter and made her feel comfortable. We expressed the desire to do contacts and had a great experience regarding that. The reason I gave 3 stars and not 5, is because I asked for help buying *back-up glasses* and an extremely expensive lens was recommended. It seemed unprofessional to press for me to buy lenses that are 8 times more expensive than a basic pair that would be suitable for back-up glasses.

5 stars to Dr Zach Scogin! My husband got a piece of metal in his eye while working on his truck. After we reached out Dr Scogin and his team got us in quickly and removed the piece of metal all in the same day without even having an appointment! We are so greatful and will be back for all of our eye needs!

When my wife and I visit with Dr. Gordon, we are always treated with courtesy and professionalism. Dr. Gordon and his staff do an exceptional job in examining our eyes and giving feedback with regards to helping us take care of any needs associated with our eye care.

Dr. Scogin and the ladies that help him are fantastic. He took his time with my exam and explained everything he found. He let me come home with plenty of information for me to decide what procedure I wanted and gave me time to think!! The best eye exam ever and the best doctor!!!

I'm giving two stars because my son's eye exam was great and I'm always happy with his doctor who we followed from Haik Humble. As for the experience buying the glasses, it was a different story. The short version of it is that they applied everything they absolutely could to the glasses to make what is typically a $115 (checked with Haik Humble) pair of glasses $600. All of these things were written down on a paper and presented to me as if that was just how the glasses came. It was deceptive and I was presented it like there were no other options. I'm not a glasses wearer myself and Haik Humble has always walked me through the process and asked (key word) "Do you want XYZ?" and then they tell me how much it would cost and the options. Taking that into account and numbers being thrown at me and "deals" (and the general environment being loud and chaotic), I was overwhelmed and confused which led me to not questioning it until I was able to step away from the situation and assess what really happened. It really made me feel they must work on commission. After multiple attempts of trying to talk to someone to get answers to only get the run around, I finally talked to the girl who did the work up on the glasses. I explained to her that I did not understand why glasses that were normally $115 cost me $600. As she is talking around it, I finally realized that all the extras and top of the line of everything were put on the glasses (remember, I'm not a glasses wearer and I don't know the lingo). I didn't know if they didn't apply the benefits or if their materials just cost more. After at least 5 minutes of back of forth where I am not being heard she tells me "Well this is what is best." At that point I see red (which is pretty tame considering my baseline is pretty relaxed and agreeable) because it sounded like she was implying that I did not know what was best for my child and was not doing what is best. And then she asked, "What did I say to make you upset?" Which further floored me and did not help the situation. She then proceeded to take off the HOYA lenses (we've never had these before) and top of the line high index (which the Dr. recommended as he always does but no one have ever insisted we get the most expensive level). Bottom line...I'm returning to Haik Humble because I've never felt deceived or taken advantage of there.

Most up to date equipment. Clean spacious facility. Calm pleasant employees. Patient and easy to grasp customer attempts at communicating their eye needs. Very knowledgeable and a wide variety of eye wear needs and or choices .

Dr. Scoggins is the absolute best. He listens and is attentive to every detail. My vision is never sharper with any other optometrist. Family Eye Care was wonderful!

This was my 1st eye exam since childhood and the experience couldn't have been any better. The doctor and staff took great care of all my needs & concerns!
