The absolute, all-around best!! Starting with Heather, a most helpful, friendly office manager who went above and beyond. After my cat mangled my already broken glasses, I was forced to schedule a long overdue eye exam. I found Dr. Lord in a Google search to be the only doctor with an opening at the time, and what a find! He diagnosed my need for cataract surgery in both eyes, then quickly booked me into an awesome surgical facility for the two surgeries. Now, for the first time in many, many years, I have 20/20 vision. I just can't say enough about how great they are, so I highly recommend!

I'm leaving this review for my mother who used to see Dr. Lord, but recently had her prescription updated by a doctor in Texas. The new doctor said the prescriptions my mother has been using over at least the last five years from Dr. Lord were very wrong and included a completely unnecessary prism that has been causing her terrible vertigo. This is a long time to suffer with something very disruptive to one's quality of life. She was afraid to use stairs or escalators, fell off curbs, I mean it's hard to describe the magnitude and reach of a miscalculation like this. She just thought she had an unrelated medical problem. Her new doctor told her it could take months to readjust after getting an appropriate prescription without the prism, but she's seen massive improvements in just the first few days and weeks. I encourage anyone with vertigo or dizziness to reevaluate your medical team and eyeglasses prescription, particularly one with a prism, and consider a second opinion.

I have gone to Dr. Lord for many years, both in Hampden and Bucksport. Superior service, very professional and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new optometrist.
