I probably wont come back to this location again. This was my first time to this location but I have been to another back in Delaware. I recently moved to Md and chose this location. When I walked in the lady at the desk wasn't really friendly, no warm greeting, no smile, just gave me the clipboard and told me what to fill out. Come to find out shes the manager setting the bar so low. Then she was laughing and joking with her teammates but no smile or warm energy for the customer. When I go to places I look for simple customer service, nothing crazy, just saying hi or goodmorning and a nice smile. This whole office had this energy down to my provider. When she did my exam she wasnt friendly or warm, I joked a lil and she was just very serious and it made me uncomfortable and wanting to get it over with. She assumed that my last appointment with then was my last prescription and when ibtold her no my glasses are not the prescription you have in the system she seemed to gt an attitude when she had to scan my glasses for my current prescription. I hate to see mean woman in healthcare but the good thing is there are better places who appreciate their patients. I wont be returning here.
I do not recommend. There were multiple other issues, but the main reasons I will not be returning are:
1. Administration is very messy - the day of the exam they called to say it was too early for my insurance to cover exams (incorrect, I had a copay for glasses exam). I knew insurance wouldn't cover the contact exam, but the office was unable to tell me how much that exam would cost. They seemed to be trying to include cost of lenses into the exam price, ultimately was given a cost range of what the exam would be ... which ended up being inaccurate.
2. I was charged $68 for a contact lens exam, however the doctor did not once look at my eyes with any contacts in. She changed the brand of both my dailies and biweekly lenses, did not check the fit or the rx, and did not have any samples so I could try the new brand before buying. I wanted to explore new brands of dailies, they apparently have no samples or trials.
All in all not exactly sure what the $68 contact "exam" charge was for, and am thankful for online contact suppliers who will let you try lenses risk free.
Dr. Oliver has been my doctor the last 2 visits. I have Multiple Sclerosis and my thought process is a little slow, Dr Oliver has very patiently shown me the same views several times before I can say which is better. She never seems to be irritated about it. The other 2 Drs. That I saw there were not either but I'm more comfortable with Dr. Oliver, I think she is awesome.
I called them and made an appointment and they were polite and friendly. The staff were following all the safety procedures. The lady who checked me in was very friendly and polite. Dr. Schatz was patient and answered all my question. Overall a great place. I would definitely recommend this place.
Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend
I had a very negative experience at this place. The staff's attitude completely changed once they realized I wasn't interested in purchasing their overpriced glasses and was only there for an eye exam. They started treating me poorly and spoke to me in a rude manner.
I was also pressured into paying an additional $40 for a retina test, with the promise that the doctor would review the results with me. However, the doctor never mentioned them during the exam. When I followed up and asked for the report, they said they would call me--yet I never heard back.
Overall, I felt disrespected and misled. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I've never been so disappointed in the group of women working at this location front desk. Today August 19th, 11:30am my elderly mother walked in, was turned away due to her insurance as the front lady re explained she started to get hostile and said she was getting hostile because I'm not understanding via phone. I call my mother and she grabs my mother's phone and starts saying rude remarks and hangs up on me. AGAIN touching my mother's phone. My mother has Alzheimer's so this aggressive nature was uncalled for sometimes we need things re explained due to her condition. Touching someone else's property is never okay and a form of harassment.
Very professional and polite ,explained to me each event of the eye exam as well as what they're looking for ,
and when it comes time to pick frames, they were resourceful and patient ,
overall the experience was very, very good.
Great professionals and friendly staff. Dr. Stuart Schatz was very professional and helpful. I always schedule my appointments with him. Other staff were very courteous and respectful at the front desk and glasses ordering technicians. It was a pleasure to be seen there.
