Northern Baltimore Surgery Center

I had a very positive experience at the Northern Baltimore Surgery Center on 09/10/2025. I was greeted upon arrival by Saundra. She got me all checked in. I was called back by Nurse Aquetta to be prepped for surgery. She was assisted by Nurse Chanelle. Dr. Murphy was my anesthesiologist. Nurse Taren, then assisted Dr. Shalaby in the surgery suite. The staff worked together seamlessly. I was done and on my way home in no time. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shalaby and this facility if you need Cataract Surgery.

My husband had his cataract surgery today, (Dr. Shallaby), we fogot to bring in required paper work, so we were a bit stressed! until! Samantha! Samantha made everything ok!! What a beautiufl soul!! She is front staff! My husband was extremely pleased with every person that he encountered in the back! He said they all worked in cohesion, and with positive attitudes!! We also reccomend Dr. Shallaby and Dr. Jennifer Stone for Levin EyeCare Cntr. Thank you so much!!

I was extremely anxious about my cataract surgery today and everyone really put me at ease: staff, nurses, my doctor (Dr. Marcic) and the anesthesiologist. The office runs like a well-oiled machine. I arrived as scheduled at 11:30 for my 12:30 procedure and was in the car on my way home at 1:15. Everything went smoothly and I know I won't be anxious for the 2nd procedure in a couple of weeks.

Worst facility ever. They provide no waiting area for the person to care for the patient after surgery. They told me to sit outside in the cold in my car or in the public lobby where people were coming in and out of the facility with no masks on. The front office staff and the director were rude and they repeatedly threatened to cancel my client's surgery unless I sat outside in the cold or in the public lobby with people that weren't wearing masks. Only one African American staff member was considerate and helpful. We will not be back to this facility. They do not care for patients or caregivers. UPDATE: we've been here since 8 a.m. and it is now 10. I called because the procedure was only supposed to take 30 minutes and no one called me as they said they would. They claim that they can't find a vein after previously telling me that the patient's IV had been successfully inserted. They have now bypassed my client's surgery and took another patient ahead of him and told me to just wait out in the cold until they decide to call me. They refused to give me any information about the time of my client's surgery and once again the person that came to the phone was rude. UPDATE: My client supposedly just went into surgery and now it's going to take an hour instead of half an hour. It's 11 a.m. and I believe that my client's surgery was delayed out of retaliation on their part. At least the lady that answered the phone wasn't rude. UPDATE: After sitting in the cold for four hours my brother, not a staff member called to tell me he was ready to leave. The rude receptionist made disparaging remarks about me to my client. I called to discuss this with the director, "Wanda" but of course she was "busy" and refused to call me back. I am disappointed but not surprised. Rude and unprofessional employees are the downfall of companies and a.reflection of their employers

This was my first encounter with facility. I arrived an hour early per instructions, but I completed all pre-op and just had to turn it in. The facility is quaint, but clean and staff were personable. The appointment took twice as long as it should have, but that was tolerable. It was the front office staff, other patients and back office medical staffers that made all the difference. People don't have to be kind, but they were apologetic and kind. Of course we laughed and let off steam when their lunch was delivered and we couldn't eat or drink. At the end of the day, we got what we went for and much more. Kindness, pleasantries and medical treatment from a top doctor.

Every single staff member was Extremely pleasant, upbeat, attentive and most of all accommodating! I highly recommend this business! From front desk all the way to recovery and discharge. Excellent service!

Very nice kind people here. Specially the lady behind the counter. Who was so caring to my mom and put her at ease. Five stars all day. She was this way with everyone.
